At least 3 Huge targets in house

I visit this site about 50 times a day but never have posted.
My family and I went to the game yesterday as I got some sweet tickets from my wife for my birthday. We sat directly behind our bench 6 rows up. There were a lot of recruits sitting in front of me and they all looked impressive but one stood out the most. He was an African American “kid” with a Louisville Trinity shirt on. He stayed probably the longest but didn’t come back to seats after weather delay. Regardless, whoever he is we want him! My 12 year old son was like “who is that” bc I update him on all things Purdue since there is a pull from his friends to be an IU fan....but he is all Purdue! I know there is a receiver we wanted from Trinity, but this “kid” looks like an NFL DE already.

Arak McDuffie? Some posters have stated physically he's blown up this year

Yep. That’s him. Looked him up on Rivals. Surprised he was only a 2star DE. He looked the part from my perspective. Thanks for info!

BTW...there looked to be a WR/DB kid there who’s grandpa had a Notre Dane hat on. Almost teased him about it but thought otherwise. They didn’t seem very interested in game and left early giving me some more leg room.

Moore is a WR from trinity and McDuffie is a LB or DE from Trinity. Would love to get Moore. I don't know anything about MvDuffie except that people say he is blowing up this year.

McDuffie called Louisville his dream school in an article and has a visit with them coming up. That will be a very hard sell unless the wheels fall off for Louisville and they face a potential coaching change. McDuffie is hugelike 6'5 230 if I recall correctly and I believe he is weakside DE. He had a 4 sack game and is really blowing up. Currently a 2 star, but he will be a monster in the near future. I would be ecstatic if Purdue lands him. Mainly because he has the size to contribute immediately! Can you imagine him opposite of Karliftas?! Good lawd.

I love that Purdue even has a shot at these kids. It's nice at least to be in the conversation. But, if we land McDuffie, Karliftas, Kiser, and Moore that would put Purdue back on the map.

Karliftas' brother plays defensive back currently and already has a ton of highlights as a freshman. Yes, we want both for sure.

What does it matter if it was officials or and unofficial visit?? I don’t really understand the difference between the two in recruiting terms

Official is paid for by university travel/accommodations. Unofficial is not.

I'm curious to know if Moore and McDuffie stayed to watch the end of the game? and felt the excitement as Bentley ran it back?

Hope Rondale Moore liked what he saw, and a lot closer for his family and friends to see him play in person than Texas.

He stayed until the weather break I can confirm. Lost track of him during the delay, but he wasn't in his seat when I returned for last 9 mins.
He seemed to be taking the game in and was engaged compared to a couple other recruits.

Karlaftis needs to commit and get the momentum going for 2019. I have to believe Kiser will then commit as well. The two of them can work the other IN high school recruits and turn this into a killer recruiting class. If that happens this early into Brohm's tenure, then the sky is the limit for Purdue football.

I would think a Karlaftis commit would even help with Moore. Can you imagine Moore catching ball after ball in open space? With his speed and elusiveness? Scary.

I think the staff realizes that Karlaftis is probably the #1 or #2 recruit in the state of Indiana for his class and signing him with another potential state top 10 kid in Kiser would be huge. Karlaftis, Kiser, and a few of those kids from Ben Davis would be an incredible step forward for recruiting and probably would move Purdue's recruiting rankings in to the top 25 for Brohm's second full class. That would be incredible!

Looking at 247, Purdue has an impressive list of offers right now for 2019. Lots of high level 3 star and 4 star players that are at least giving Purdue and Brohm a long look. Keep having good performances and these 2019 kids will go in to the spring (when visits are really important) and summer (camps are incredibly important as well) a potential in person visit that allows the coaches to show their vision for what they can do for the young men. With the better facilities, better coaches, and it appears an engaged football alumni base (it would be really cool to have former players who starred for Purdue to reach out and help recruiting)...I believe Brohm will have recruiting to a level that allows him to be successful against the bigger boys who can recruit via name only (OSU, UM, PSU, Whisky..to a certain extent, and MSU...again, to a certain extent).

CJB lands Karlaftis and David Bell from WC. The whole state will take big time notice. You'll see a change on where the better players want to play in college.

When looking at the major programs in the state, you have Brohm @ Purdue, Allen @ IU, and Kelly @ Notre Dame. I've never heard Kelly being really a player's coach and haven't really heard glowing reviews of him after guys left and Allen seems to me to be a copy of Crean in his over enthusiasm but in his first year...it is hard to make a good judgement on him. On the other hand, you have a HC who has a proven track record and one that his former players can't say enough good things and how he is a player's coach who pushes them incredibly hard. I think Brohm will prove himself to be the better recruiter of the three BUT recruiting up against Notre Dame is always going to be an uphill battle and IU has the recent history (and the damn Bucket) to build against Purdue.

Given an even playing field that it appears to be now...I like Brohm's chances to begin recruiting talent here to campus we as fans haven't seen since the early 2000's.

One of UK longest tenured commitments just reopened. He's a DE from Hunter Heights, OH. He was in for the Minnesota game.

If you are referring to Alex Reigelsperger that just decomitted, he is shown as a Minnesota lean. It didn't list him as a visit, but does show he has a Minnesota visit scheduled in November. Purdue does show an offer for him.

He is 6'3 247 and in the top 500-900 range and it showed him initially commit in February and just decomit today. Shows him from Dayton though, so I am not sure if it's the same player you are referencing.

I watched Reigelsperger's HUDL. He does exactly what Purdue needs. He is a pure pass rusher and gets off the line very fast. He is very long and gets the hands up to change passes. I also like that he broke some double teams. Purdue will be losing a ton on defense next year and this kid has the size to play as a freshman. That would be very helpful to get a player like this late in the game, but Purdue is showing how good they are and the direction they are going. Adding him and Moore would be two incredibly impressive flips. Not to mention, some of the players CJB added are way outperforming their ratings. My goodness there is a lot to be excited about next year, even with the massive holes opening up on the defense.

According to my fraternity brothers, Huber Heights and Kettering are little brothers to Oakwood... :D hahah

Don't go there. All us poor peasants of the Dayton suburbs all hated the Lords of Oakwood ! We must all BOW DOWN to Oakwood. Everyone BOWS DOWN to the preppies from Oakwood!

When we moved to Springboro, I looked at the schools and homes and everything about Oakwood. It's a very nice little treasured community. it's schools are the envy of the entire world. it's old Tudor mansions all come with manicured lawns. the people who live there have all invented something, or have old school money.

on a related note, a guy named Kettering invented the automobile ignition key. He also founded some cash register company. NCR and Delco. and the town was named after him. he pales in comparison to the people of Oakwood.

But us peasants from Springboro, we have TE Jake Ballard who graduated from Springboro and played for OSU and the NFL!

Hahhaha.. sounds about right. I had three brothers from Oakwood (including my best friend), one from Kettering, and one from Huber Heights.. They all pretty much agreed on that situation...

a little background. We moved to the Dayton area from Tampa Bay (military) I would have loved to have lived in Oakwood. But we found a house we could afford in Springboro. kidding aside, Oakwood is a tremendous community with one of the best school systems in Ohio. on the down side it's homes are older than most and very pricy and the Dayton greater area has surrounded the community, so there are not really many newer homes or subdivisions. if your dream is to live in an old Tudor home and go to an outstanding school system, Oakwood is the place. For people familiar with Chicago, it's the Lake Bluff of Ohio.
