Our Special Teams have been less than special for years, so I am not sure why we wouldn't try to.
UNLV looked organized and handled adversity the way a well coached team should during their bowl game last night.

Never understood why Walters didn't have a special teams coach, that was one I always scratched my head about as I can't remember anyone else going that route.
The first special teams coach under Brohm was very good if I remember correctly.

247 lists Riley as the lead recruiter but its safe to say Henson had conversations with him during the process too. He was also offered by UNLV as a HS recruit (not sure about in the portal last year).
This also isn't a rumor or anything that I've heard anyone say/tweet. Just thought it was interesting there are some connections and he's clearly bouncing around to find a starting job. The only player he'd have to beat out at Purdue so far is...*checks notes*....Bennett Meredith
Sounds like Darin Hinshaw is a nice pick for QB coach. 26yrs of coaching experience, play calling experience, and rivals had him as a top recruiter in 2011
I think the ship has sailed on Davila, he's getting solid attention from other schools. Browne I could see coming back but not sure what happens with him since we have Singleton on board now. Browne did have a cryptic tweet not long before Singleton was announced
I was banned by brian for my negative comments about Hazell and the level of recruits he brought to Purdue. I complained Purdue needed to stop recruiting the same players MAC players recruited and start recruiting players big 10 teams recruited. I got tired of seeing recruits sign with Purdue that had zero power 5 offers. He let me back when he realized I was right. Hazell and his recruits were MAC caliber players. I was said to be too negative about high school players and might hurt their feelings. I just said what every other national scout said publicly about them as part of their 1 and 2 star ratings / analysis.

Now perhaps we'll see some field goals and fake punts. Hopefully things like losing the ball on kickoffs and punts will be a thing of the past. It's time to make special teams special again.
I got attacked by multiple poster when I said negative things about Walters on this site to which I responded that they would come around to thinking the same way at some time. I didn't expect it to take less than one season however.
