That after a great season (by Purdue standards) we would lose essentially all of our Staff and get what appear to be lesser replacements? I understand that when you win others will poach your coaches, but I wonder if it has to do with Brohm.

Lambert wanted to be near his wife. p*ssy is undefeated
Biagi wanted to move back south
Shephard was a pay and responsibility bump. He needed to move on if he ever wanted to be more than a position coach
The OL coach retired.

Wallace is a good TE coach and recruiter. Who do you think has coached the position the entire time brohm has been here.
Youboty is as experienced as Adams was and has an NFL pedigree
McGee has an impressive resume.

The only one im leery on is the LB coach.

McGee was pretty underwhelming at Illinois. granted, was under Lovie but still didn't produce up to the talent on hand.

I looked at the UI/PU games from those years. Good lord UI's QB talent was bad.

Brohm will soon have the reputation for providing opportunities for coaches who want to move up and mix with experienced asst coaches and coordinators. That's not a bad thing. CJB knows where Purdue lies in the pecking order of college football. Granted, not all his hires are going to work out, but we should be mostly solid. His past experiences will pay dividends for the program over time.

Assistant coaches are guys that will be around for a few years, maybe 5 years maximum. Anything more than 5 years is going to be considered a "long stretch." I think the guy you really want to lock up here is Hagen. He is a great DL recruiter in Indiana/regionally.

Brohn is not Mr. Personality.
If Brohn would get fired or leave on his own, Hagen would be #1 on the short list for HC. I didn't say he would get the job but that he would be the man if they hired from within as of today.

They would hire from outside.

I’m guessing Brohm has a much better personality than Brohn

Not sure why this forum continually needs to search for reasons to borrow trouble, and/or manufacture concern.

We have a HC who has done wonders, and has elevated this program. Let's enjoy the ride for awhile.

I generally agree, but, the significant amount of turnover in staff...especially on the heels of what was a really good year by Purdue standards...at the least, is a little puzzling and, could indeed be concerning.

Ultimately, as a program, you can't/won't have success with perpetual turnover, and, Purdue is not a place that is going to generate a ton of interest from guys at better programs.

I mean, it is established that Lambert wanted to move for the sake of his wife/family...did that never cross anyone's mind a year ago...was that never a topic that was discussed? Fortunately, Purdue had some guys on staff to cover for that loss, but, that would have been a far more significant and impactful loss.

I just feel like there has been a lot of turnover the past couple of years, and, coming off of a good year and with some things seemingly moving in a good direction, it is hard to understand the degree of turnover that there has been, and, hard not to be at least a little concerned at this point.

generally agree, and I hope my comments weren't taken as a shot at Kent.

The only way we know the impact is to see what happens with the 2022 season. Do we improve? Is the staff better?

CFB coaching is an interesting career. The "journeyman" nature of the profession is also interesting to watch.

No doubt about the latter, and, agree on the former as well...

I am not worked up per se by any means, and, time will ultimately tell...but, I would be lying if I did not say that it was at least a little surprising/puzzling to see the extent of turnover, especially this off-season on the heels of what was a really nice season.

Hagen, a great coach, players respect him and when he walks into a room DL recruits listen!!!

I think concern is logical for longtime fans .. in 2003 we were on top of the Purdue world for the most part. You looked around.. Gardner.. Johnson … koutouvides ..

You woke up a year later and realized you were watching Stanford Keglar and George Hall .. you blinked and Louis skolnick was writing about how the team needed more Dan Bick.

when the smoke cleared the explanation was tiller losing his assistants

Man I just thought of the difference between Koutouvides and Bick .. or Kelly Butler and David Owen

You're going back 15-20 years ago.

If we're going to dig through histor, there's all sorts of bad things we can find. (Which was really my point.)

I don’t want beef with you 85.. I’m about to go make the real Italian shit and I just ran into this chick I didn’t want to see at jewels..

We’ve had two irrelevant coaches since tiller.. our last relevant coach before brohm. Tiller couldn’t sustain the last success we had on this level due to loss of key assistants .. are those who worry for this reason correct? The f if I know … but if you look at it being our last success on this level it’s logical for antennas to go up for some
