if you search Purdue Arizona on YouTube, you’ll get all these videos, in addition to the highlights of Arizona media people acting like the wildcats must have had a 3 hour epileptic episode on Wednesday night.

I get that they have a lot of track and field athleticism... but I watched the 2005 Boilers, so I also understand that track stars and victory in the game of football are not synonymous..

Just the way their fans acted too. I was sitting by a bunch of guys yelling **** Purdue when the game hadn’t even started and just making a lot of comments like we were playing the 01 Hurricanes...

I saw a team that had a few nice athletes but was sloppy, not crisp in their execution at all, and not in position. I saw enough teams fail the way that they did late in Tiller’s run and then under Hope and Purdue’s worst ever to know that having nice athletes is only half the story.. (and in many of those years we didn’t even have that).

I guess it reminds me of when I was on a 6 hour layover headed to Chicago ... in Phoenix.. during game 1 of the 1993 finals ... I was at a bar and you would have thought the Bulls were about to tip against the 85 Lakers that night...

The only thing I can remember that was more comical was when Purdue best Illinois like 42-9 when I was a student there during the Brees era and a bunch of Illinois fans left the stadium yelling at all of us that “we sucked”...

It was bizarre Wednesday

The better team won Wednesday.

AZ was totally exposed by Purdue—their vaunted rushing game was completely neutered by the Purdue front seven. That domination came at a price, because Purdue’s secondary was torched repeatedly, but AZ lacked the poise and leadership to prevail.

The AZ fans and media are colossally delusional about their team— they may mature and improve over time, but they did not impress me at all — the game could easily have been a Boilermaker blowout.

The Arizona team I watched was a copy/paste version of every team he had at UM. Good enough to probably beat some people with their athletes but incredibly sloppy and inefficient of it ran in to a well coached team.

There is a reason the guy was run out of Ann Arbor and why he consistently ends up around 6-7 wins as his peak...hats what DickRod is.
