Any thoughts about new Commission Kevin Warren's 1st year on the job?

Go ahead and email Mitch that - he voted not to play. You can say it all you want, doesn't make it true. It's not solely about the actual kids health either for millionth time. And again, we already have a number of issues that have come up from it with those "extraordinarily low" risk kids. So that's not true either.

I'm not making it up.

It's the CDC's own data.

You can close your eyes, stomp your feet, cover your ears all you like. I'm citing the science. You're denying it.

. But when he canceled your football, you lash out at anybody who agrees with and supports his decision. Mitch hasn't all of a sudden lost his brain. and neither have I.

Lost in all of this is that you won't have cross country or a band or a glee club either. But I guess you don't care about those people do you?
Emotions run fast and furious when news first breaks. I'll admit it. Saying that we don't care is not true. We all know that revenue runs thru Football and Basketball and that feeds the lifeblood of all sports. I've said it before, I've got kids that play collegiate soccer (not at Purdue), but I know how important all the Olympic sports programs, band and all other clubs are at Purdue.
Am I frustrated? Absolutely, more so now than ever if Big12, SEC and ACC make a go of it and complete their seasons. This is financially driven from Personal Injury Lawyers and not having protection to the institutions.
While it may seem like I'm your enemy, I'm really not. I want young Americans to live a normal life now more than ever. It is simple as that. There will be others who want to trash me as well with my responses, but I've got thick skin.

kudos to you for such a level-headed, rational response to such a caustic, unreasonable accusation.

(It's an illustration of the emotions driving the reaction to the panic porn.)

I've not done very well with that lately. I need to work on that. To get better.

Any girss in who leaves to play this fall? If I'm George or David. See ya
If they could opt out, it would not shock me one bit. Bigger question is how does the NCAA handle that?
Can you let conferences poach other players and let them play? Seems like this will become very interesting in these unchartered waters. How about a coach or two that wants to move on quickly?
Hopefully, any potential cannibalizing gets stopped quickly.

To be honest, I'm not doing well in this COVID culture either. 5-6 months in and all I see are pillars crumbling around us. Travel, Entertainment, Education on-line, Work from home, Businesses both large and small getting crushed, relationships with family and friends is caustic, etc etc. Isolation is downright sad. I'm sure the other half have similar views.

I think the teams that do play are going to lose their shirts financially. No way are they letting fans in. No fans = no sales. No gate revenue and I think operating costs will make them in the red?

speaking of red and the commish, he isn't too happy w/ Nebraska and their defiance right now. Article on yahoo sports.

Why are you isolating?

The key(and driving force) is likely the TV money. I'm still not convinced we'll see games this fall, regardless of the conference.

I'm not a fan. Just gets thru a complete full year, then shuts down the programs that fund all other aspects of Universities. Won't surprise me one bit that Basketball season will be doomed too.
Tough decisions are pushed aside for popular decisions and still gets that big pay check. I hope he resigns sooner than later.
I also hope that both the SEC and ACC play full seasons (wishful thinking) just to rub it in Warren's face.

He made a good decision. Thought about players welfare and health first. Saved Purdue from another embarrassing football start. He is a credible and sensible man. Unlike some who have too much bad alcohol to drink.

is this the real DaveK? Just curious.

Same guy. He made a smart and sensible decision just like the PAC 12. He lacks a bit of polish though. When they came out with that schedule they should have made it very clear that this was contingent on playing football in the fall which had not been voted on. Pushing it to spring just delays a further decision.

Yes, I'm the one in denial. Absolutely. Me and Mitch!
