Any one willing to take a flyer on this guy?

Well, have to say I've never heard of Alex Grinch, but anybody who can get a Mike Leach coached-team to play hard-nosed defense has to have some ability!

I doubt they go after unknown coordinators unless they absolute whiff on guys with headcoaching experience. Too much at risk

yea give him 4 mil /yr for 5-6 years. could work out. paying a lot of money should do it

Purdue took a "flyer" on Hazell and it set them back at least 10 year, and it's really doubtful any quality coach wants to take a "flyer" with Purdue!

Hazell was not a "flyer" but it was safest hire at the time. By not opening up the job until the end of November we were a bit behind. I think we thought we could get Butch Jones until UT opened up then we were left first week of December with nothing we could do.

That isn't true at all. It was what Burke thought was a safe hire because he had a huge blind spot to the risks presented namely recruiting and xs and os style.

The real question is who would have been the better hire that would have actually taken the job. I've always worked under the assumption that Hazell was considered to be highest swimmer of the carp.
