Any guesses as to what we see next in Archie Miller's Movement?

I can't lie. Didn't think we'd see Damezi Anderson get caught up in Archie Miller's Movement.

I wonder if we're going to see Romeo Langford right in the middle of Archie Miller's Movement.

I have a feeling Romeo will choose IU since it sounds he is already eliminating teams like Duke (rumors). I hope not, but if so, Carsen does have experience playing with him for team USA in U19. Should be interesting watching them play against each other and how Carsen steps up and helps lead his teammates.

Looks like more and more of a possibility to me. Never want to count out slick Rick and Calapari, but if Langford wants to be the BMOC, IU is his place.

Archie is heard mumbling this every day:
O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?

He is being told like all their recruits that he will be the focal point of the offense. Anyway, it will be a 1 year deal with him there if he does go.

Wonder if any of them are in danger of not passing the double secret summer screening academic course???

Pretty simple...continued recruiting success, as he is good in that regard and has a pretty solid staff to complement him as well...and success on the floor as a result of both of those things...the guy is a good coach...the question was how he would fare in recruiting, especially early in that the perception at least was that he had ground to make up...thus far, he made up a lot of ground in a hurry it would seem.

Damezi Anderson no more got caught up in what he was selling than E'Twaun, Robbie, JJ or Scott Martin did to what Painter was selling at the time...difference was that Painter was able to devote all of his time to recruiting those guys, he was not making up ground on others (at least not to the same extent), and it did not happen within months of his getting the job and it was aided by the fact that IU was down and had a virtual bum as a coach at the time...that said, that is the difference between IU and Purdue, and, it is only magnified if the guy at IU happens to be good.

Only thing more impressive than getting Anderson and Hunter in the fashion that he did would be landing Langford...which once seemed impossible.

Knock what he has done if you want, but, he has done a very nice job in a very short period of time...he went into an area that has not been one in that IU has traditionally had a lot of success recruiting (yet Purdue has) and got a kid that Painter/Purdue had pursued and prioritized for some time...with not near the effort or the benefit of having offered him before anyone else...pretty much did the same for Hunter...and arguably Thompson as well.

Not surprised by any of it. If Archie Miller couldn't recruit top 100 kids to IU right now, that would be news to me.

I'd take that bet in a heartbeat if this weren't a 5 year bet on an internet message board.

I think, (and it's just a gut feeling) that you're going to be very disappointed with what IU becomes under Coach Arch.

Unlike the original "movement", IU isn't over signed and unable to land the most critical piece of the class as they were under thee previous coach. Hell, there's actually a kid red shirting this next season. When's the last time you saw the likes of that at IU. I like the assistant coaches and I feel pretty good about their likelihood to recruit and land thee kind of players Arch wants / needs. I think your parallels to The Movement Part Deux are a reach

I'd offer that bet in a heartbeat as well. Like you said, 5 years, internet board.....

Much of this is very true, but don't you think eastern that could play a 3, wheeler a 3 or 4 and Haarms as a4 or 5, Taylor as a 4 or 5 and Ewing as a 4, Williams as a 4 have a bearing on playing time for a 3 that appears to be a slicer? All along I thought he would pick Purdue and all along I didn't know why?

So are we assuming Archie is better than Sean? Sean has never been to a final four with constant top 5-10 recruiting classes. Not saying it isn't going to happen but these elite programs grab top 5-10 recruiting classes every year. IU just doesn't recruit at that level....good but not elite! They might be a notch above Purdue but not by much.

I wouldn't be stunned if he did but there aren't many programs I wouldn't bet against to get to Final Four in the next five years. UNC, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, and probably a couple more like Gonzaga and maybe Michigan State. Are there going to be other programs outside of those six that are going to find their way there? Sure but there will only be 20 spots in the Final Four in the next 5 years and I'd be surprised if at least half the spots aren't occupied by these six programs. That's not even including dozens of other high level programs who will have good teams in the next five years. Louisville, UCLA, and Arizona for example. Maybe a Creighton or a Wichita State? Oregon? Maybe a program comes out of nowhere under a new coach like Missouri with the talent Cuonzo is accumulating there? Perhaps a traditional program like Syracuse or UCONN experiences a resurgence?

There's a ton of competition out there. A few top 100 players doesn't really distinguish IU from anyone. I'm kind of surprised so many are buying in so soon. Sounds like the same rhetoric I remember after Crean got the Hartman and Davis commits on the same day.

Anyway, I think from an odds perspective it's a no brainier to bet against IU or most other teams to not make one of the next five FFs if you gave me straight up odds.

I hate this, but it's true

The question is....which of Archie's new recruits will uphold the IU tradition of drugs and booze, and the Dayton traditions under Archie of theft an alleged other player issues.
