Anthony Brown DB Arkansas transfers to Purdue!

is this the same safety the pay forum said we missed out on last week? If so, perserverance pays off.

Somewhat concerned by the statement that he was suspended in November by Arkansas. That was this kid, correct? Do we have any idea what that might have been for?

for 1 game, he pushed a police officer after the officer instructed him to the sidewalk. It was the night of Liberty's win over the hogs

Thank you. Not the type of suspension I feared. Not behavior we would encourage but sounds like there might be two sides to the situation.

I haven't watched the video of the incident. But someone else said that the police officer tried to grab him from behind for no apparent reason and Brown turned and pushed him away. The the police officer tackled him to the ground.

I gotta say, if someone tries to grab me from behind and I don't know who they are, they're getting pushed away from me as well.

Disagree. Don't react before processing. If it were a kid or a woman. I doubt you would feel the same.

I'm assuming his suspension was because he was in the wrong. I'm going to guess he knew there was a police presence and put himself in a bad situation.

This 'thinking' is exactly why people feel they have a reason to resist or completely disregard the police commands. If it's within their duties of the law...... then you must comply.

I agree. My kids are in TKD and they're taught to react by instinct if someone grabs them. Part of is shoving someone away.

If the officer doesn’t identify himself then the kid did nothing wrong.

If a woman grabs me from behind in an aggressive fashion, she's getting pushed away. Especially if I have no idea what she's trying to do...

Pushing away isn't the same as hitting or attacking someone...

I would disagree. I’ve seen both sides of the law and I know 18-20 year olds are not always totally truthful about events. I have to believe the police officer said something before touching him and it’s included in the police report. I doubt highly it was a surprise attack!

How do you know he didn't identify himself? If he was pushed or grabbed from behind and reacted and then acted? That means he turned and saw the officer. I've literally never been to a scene where you couldn't identify a police presence.

I'm an ACLU member and believe in citizens rights, but that doesn't give me the right to disregard law enforcement.

I guess the "woke" generation believe this to be a right. Once again, if it's an active scene with a presence of law enforcement and you're impeding that investigation......you can be arrested or detained.

Acting within the law gives them every right and that officer was never reprimanded or suspended, but the player was. You tell me again who was wrong.

1. I never said he didn’t identify himself, I said IF.

2. I never said it was alright to disregard a lawful command.

3. I am well aware of when an officer can and cannot arrest and detain as I am a police officer.

This is why I believe it was not some surprise attack from behind. I have to believe the police officer identified himself. The player was obviously upset after the game. And is fortunate no charges were filed.

I don’t like the term woke generation because some use it to identify liberals and Democrats. I don’t like labels. There are just as many non woke that get drunk at football games and create problems for law enforcement.

According to the report, Brown was "intentionally standing in the road" on West Ave. around 2 a.m. Sunday. An officer asked Brown to get out of the road, grabbed Brown's sleeve, and walked him to the sidewalk. According to the report, that's when Brown pushed the police officer, who was in full uniform.

I'm going to assume he was in the wrong. He didn't like the commands of Law enforcement and as you know, as an officer. If, there was intent to disobey commands that an officer can act within his duties.
