Last night was the first time in a long time that I got to watch the women's team on tv. I tuned in and there was a little under 7 minutes to play. I was wanting to get an idea of who our players were but the announcers kept talking about everything other than the game. There was no play by play whatsoever but more than enough praise while the game went on about NW player Burton and talk about other teams around the league. One of our players actually shot two free throws and her name was never mentioned nor any info given about her. A little later one of our players fouled out and nothing was mentioned until later in the NW possession that so and so for Purdue did foul out earlier. I have never heard commentating close to this during a men's game and was wondering if this is the norm these days for our women's games? I was not impressed whatsoever by the announcers but maybe the problem is me.

I try to catch all the ladies games when they are televised.
Unfortunately that is the norm.

Actually I have noticed that it is becoming the norm for men's games also. It may have to do with being remote rather than on site but can't explain why. Too bad there is not a feedback site to comment on commentators' performances.

Yes, I was watching the Illinois men's game a bit ago and Dakich talked about every thing but the game. When one team gets significantly ahead they tend to ignore the game.

I thought the same thing, the announcers hardly talked about the game, many times I had no clue who was in. Are they not at the game these days?

This was the worst I have ever heard. They were TERRIBLE. Noticed the same thing about Farquhar fouling out as you. I somewhat disagree that this is par for the course as this was by far the worst ever and I listen to all our games. It is so frustrating that BTN gives you no avenue for feedback.

I would much rather listen to Tim Newton and Jane Schott call the game on The BOB-FM but the streaming feed is way ahead of the TV feed (like 30 secs) and it is a terrible way to watch the game. I haven't found a way to sync it up.

Yep, players would make shots and they wouldn't even say who made them. It was horrible, no way that's the norm these days, I don't care if they're at the game or not. A few times I haf to go to the Purduesports page to check on players numbers because I don't know who they were. Gony made a nice bucket at the end of the half, had no clue who it was.
