I doubt his fear was for himself. Unlikely he was eating alone. Most likely there with his family- should his wife and children (if any; I admit I do not know) be subject to this? The "public scrutiny " (is that what we are calling it now?) should be limited to public venues like government offices and maybe the Supreme Court building, just a thought.
He has the freedom to eat dinner at home then. Free speech is in the constitution. Having a nice meal at the Cheesecake Factory isn't.

We continue to speak of the danger of right wing hatred. Meanwhile, pro abortion activists are spewing vile hatred at these judges because of a ruling. It will eventually turn violent, and then what will the excuses be? It's OK because it was my right to get an abortion?

So it already turned violent, this is a continuation by the other side.

If you're harassing/protesting Justices at their home (which is illegal), putting bounties on their locations in public places while harassing them there, and in at least one case threatening their lives, you are no better than a Proud Boy or Oath Keeper. So because they're mostly women protesting something you agree with, that makes it OK?
