And then there is Akron

Just a terrible day for the B1G.

Kansas (freakin Kansas!) curb stomped Rutgers. Troy beat Nebraska in Lincoln. Temple blew past Maryland. Can the Terps just play Texas every week? Purdue twice came back from being down multiple scores, but couldn't finish off Missouri. Illinois blew a halftime lead against South Florida. Wisconsin went down to BYU -- at home.

At least Ohio State finished off TCU.

Akron's victory over Northwestern gave the Zips the school's first win against a Big Ten member since 1894.....pre-dates the conference's formation....wow. In certain circles, it was said that Teddy Roosevelt was a Zips' fan.

23-pt favorite Wisconsin - in addition to an end to its 41-game home winning steak over non-conference opponents (I thought I heard it was 5th longest in the modern era), the Badgers' loss to the BYU Cougars put any play-off chances in serious jeopardy.

When he wasn't trying to shut the sport down.

Northwestern losing to Akron was probably a bigger upset than us losing to Eastern Michigan. We never should have lost that NW game.
