why we didn't fire Keady. He stayed 25 years and no final 4's, no national championships. Mediocrity has been a part of Purdue sports for so long. Win a Big 10 title, beat IU and call it a successful season. Purdue sits in the middle of historical rich region of talent. So many teams sitting around Purdue have NCAA championships. UK, IU, UofL, KU, UW, MSU, UM, OSU and so on. Even the Purdue Women's BB team have been on the mountain top. Let's go for results and not feelings so we can join that group.

No comparison between the 2

The biggest difference for me was that I never questioned GK's desire to win. As a coach, I felt like he was not the best recruiter, but I seldom questioned our effort, which is what any fan wants. When he was on the sidelines, you knew one thing, it was going to take a hell of an effort to out tough us.

Keady had 6 league championships and has the 2nd most wins in Big Ten history. Is this thread for real?
5 star prospects aren't interested in how many league championships Keady won over 25 freakin' years. Can't imagine Painter using that as a recruiting tool against other schools.

the term 'bandwagon' fan was conceived by the marketing department of sports teams to guilt trip fans into accepting mediocrity / poor performance.

Well and we like to use bandwagon fans incorrectly. I have been following Purdue basketball since the baby boilers (sorry I am young and only wanted to go to Purdue in high school and to be fair I didn't follow any other college team). I got disappointed year in and year out, but hey man those were some good years so many close losses! Bandwagon fans happen when you are doing well and a bunch of people jump on and then jump off after the good years are gone. They don't bitch around about how to keep the good years coming they jump off and start supporting the MSUs of the world.

Lets get this straight Purdue hasn't done anything worthy of getting bandwagon fans!
