Painter is under contract and it's a huge one. 2.4 Million a year. He aint gunna go anywhere. He needs to learn from this game and learn that you can foul at the end to win the game.
I think we should buy out his contract and go after Brad Stephens. He'd probably accept $5,000,000 a year. I know he wants to come home to our state. We need to act fast because you know Indiana is gonna go after him real soon!
What about a coach who has been to the tourney 8 times and never been past the sweet 16? Its been 11 years now and he hasn't grown.
Bring back GK for a year, hire the new AD ASAP to start a search (start the negotiations with Gregg Mashall) and let him take over after next season.
Bruce Weber has a better resume than Painter. Let that sink in for a minute.
You are what you are. Matt Painter is a lights out or awful recruiter, no middle, and largely bad in big games regardless of location. His ceiling is Sweet 16.
I do think there is a huge issue somewhere that we get great shooters and turn them into mediocre shooters. I think we need to start focusing on offense more instead of defense.
Even though I think we shouldn't re-up his contract, our athletic department is enough of a dumpster fire right now. We need a new football coach.

I have degrees from IU and Purdue, rooting for both teams. It's possible.

Morgan 2.0 won't do a thing. Everyone is stoked for the new AD. It is going to be meet the new boss, same as the old boss... Cry poor, be patted on the back for the budget, and walk around chesty because basketball is 5th in the Big 10.
Well fist of all our basketball program has a chance at accomplishing a lot. Football is going to suck for a while. The stadium is terrible. I wouldn't want to play there let alone a top recruit.
Yeah getting a new football coach isn't going to do anything for that dumpster fire. Just get the cheapest coaches you can find and just cash in on B1G money, don't play any non conf home games and just get paid to get beaten by the big bad teams like the shitty midmajors we are! Focus on basketball put all resources in it for the next 5 to 10 years start winning and let it handle itself.
If Little Rock can beat this Purdue team today with their facilities then facilities don't add up to dog crap in my mind anymore. This loss takes things to a whole deeper level. This comes down to pride and pride alone. This was an embarrassment. We need coaches at Purdue and I think seriously we aught to start looking at the lower conference levels to bring in champion coaches even from high school ranks if need be so be it. I'll admit I think Painter coached a very poor defense out there tonight. That was only half the problem. The bigger problem is the desire of the team. They have to come out angry to play this game. You have to have the will to win. They have got to be pushed out there. This result today and on the football field especially is the result of not pushing it. They have to be pushed hard to be able to achieve anything in this league. Little Rock pushed it hard tonight and they did the literal impossible. Their coach pushed them I could tell by his comments the other day about not being able to sleep. He was hungry he wasn't going to be denied. Purdue acted like this was a dancing contest out there. I knew this was going to happen and it happened because Painter let it happen. I mean listen to some of Bobby Knights comments. This is what a winning coach is. Hey I am not going to sit here and whimper about cussing and bad words. This is the kind of stuff that makes men and builds championships. This is what we need.

Its not financial suicide, we are going to get 40 million no matter what all we need to do is just throw together a bunch of loser and lose. Right now we are spending millions of dollars to do just that and we are perfectly content (HAZEL STILL HAS HIS JOB). If we are content with losing and paying millions of dollars we should be content with losing and paying hundreds of thousands of dollars. Bama pays its sister of the poor millions of dollars to get beat. I think B1G cupcake has to worth at least that so do a couple of million dollar games will overtake any revenue lost by fans who aren't buying tickets anyways. I am sure a bunch of away fans will still show up so thats free money. Any student old enough or that has a fake doesn't go to the game and freshmen are stupid and will still show up so that doesn't matter. Really I think we could make more money by just giving up on football stringing together a cheap team and being a cellar dwellar. No need to play more than the B1G home games giving us 3 million dollar games to get beat by USC, Bama, LSU, etc of the world. So by my calculations we will get ~43 million plus tickets sales and shared bowl revenue minus maybe a million for coaching staff. JPC may give up on football scholarships so the school may need to pick that up enough so that we can still be D1, but if BSU can do it Purdue should be able to. I think having full focus on basketball and siphoning off football revenues should get us being competitive rather quickly. We win a national championship or final 4 then boom all the excess donations come rolling in.

It what world do you exist that you think Brad Stevens isn't doing well? His run in Boston has far exceeded expectations and he is universally loved by the fan base.
Hire Cuonzo and keep assistants. They really helped the players grow especially Brantley. Cuonzo would be an easy turnover. I'm sure the players would like him especially Biggie. Cuonzo is a better in game coach and a way better recruiter than Painter.
He has a non-playoff roster at #4 in the eastern conference. Ainge will have to give him a huge raise to keep him.
A big thing too is he has been holding out on signing an extension. It seems like he was all good in the situation. He tried to fix the problem. He obviously didn't stand for it. The woman should of contacted the AD not Cuonzo.

I think cuonzo is the only absolute surefire upgrade over painter that we could possibly get, though I highly doubt he would come here until Morgue is gone.
