Am I off base here?

How do we have the 3rd ranked scoring offense, the 3rd ranked total offense, and the 2nd ranked passing offense and we only have one player (R. Moore) on any of the 3 all big 10 teams (coaches side) and three players on any of the three media all big 10 teams?

D Blough is only honorable mention on the coaches team??

The split reps at the beginning of the year hurt Blough a little bit. If he had started all 12 games his stats would have been too good to ignore. McSorley and Patterson are there on name recognition and the team they play for.
Other than Blough, I don't really have any arguments. Our overall talent was pretty low. The offensive production is a testament to the coaching staff and the excellence of Rondale.

I think Barron deserved at least Honorable Mention from the coaches. Other than that I don’t think it’s too off base.

we have to face reality. Purdue was a 6-6 team. and the BIG 10 was filled with a lot of talented players this year. for every Purdue player that you thought was deserving, there was an equal player on a better team that was also deserving. And despite the success of Purdue, other teams in the BIG 10 actually had more success. it's not like Purdue was 10-2.

I thought Blough had a decent season. But the QBs at PSU, OSU, Mich and Iowa also had decent seasons as well. I thought Knox was great, but there were other great RBs in the BIG 10 this year. Judging from the many Purdue posts this year on this board, I didn't believe any of our offensive linemen were deserving of any post season accolades. They were good, and provided better protection than last year, but were an y of them outstanding?

As I look at this year's team, will any of our players get an invitation to participate in the Senior or any other all star bowl game? Will Blough? Will Knox? Barron? Will any of our players be drafted? Above the 5th round?

it was a good year, but besides Moore, did any player really stand out above the best players in the conference? Our players were pretty good this year. but more to the point, I believe our conference was a lot stronger this year than in years past.

I look at Northwestern, PSU and Iowa. they all had good seasons this year. How many of their players were recognized?

Well to have the 3rd ranked offense that OL must have done something right.

Blough, Moore and most of all, the guy calling the plays made up for inadequacies

Right, and despite Blough being statistically equal to or much better than every qb, save Haskins, of the 6 "Teams" from coaches and media, he is on exactly 1 . . . and that was third team.
