Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing

and you guys wonder why people of color don't want to vote for republicans lol

Please proceed.

Is this policy promoting fairness in housing or is it social engineering by the government? A more cynical view might say that this is using government policy to change voting demographics to favor the Democrats.

What does the board think about this?

This is just another well intended effort at solving diversity issues that will fail miserably. African Americans need to be ready to move into more affluent areas. By being ready I mean they need the opportunity for a better education and the opportunity for a job that will provide them the income to afford a better location. Ever since LBJ's war on poverty trillions have been spent to solve the problem. The real issue is the lack of values in poor areas regardless of race. I don't pretend to have all the answers but it is clear that we need to spend more money smarter than we do currently to have more progress. All one has to do is read the Dominic Young story to gain some insight.

Dude, where in this article does it say one word about Republicans? This is about Castro and the Democrats, is it not?

Since when is it the government's job to incentivize people to move to places they could otherwise not likely afford?

It reminds me of that idiotic home makeover show a few years back, where they build folks homes they can't afford to maintain or even pay the property taxes or utilities on.

lol right, Fox News has nothing to do with republicans. Like I said, please proceed. Until republicans and the right start figuring out they need more than just the angry white male vote, they are going to lose relevance.

I think you should quit reading tabloids.

The NY Post is clickbait.

ETA: My favorite headline, This smoking eyeball is why you shouldn't stare at the sun.

Clickbait to you because they don't show the typical left-leaning spin?

15 Reasons Chris Evans is Perfect.

Tommy Hilfiger's Daughter Served Him a Silver Tray of Poop.

Your headlines. You are right. Typical folks don't read tabloids.

A few thoughts-

-I would think Section 8 housing the goal should be to get a solid living quarters for families at the best rate possible. That way, it helps the most people. It is not like there is an infinite amount of money floating around for it.

-It is called learned helplessness or learned dependence. Keep increasing what is given to people, and they largely will do nothing to improve their lot. This will keep them voting democrat. This also gives democrats a larger voting block outside regular areas due to moving their location.

I look at it as a form of modern day slavery. That view point is probably a bit much for some-but largely the government is just keeping this demographic under their control.

And Bruce in his post above hit the nail on the head with DYoung. Values, hard work, and staying out of trouble will earn success. Relocating will not have much to do with anything without the correct value system. And that starts in the home.
