Of course I am utterly crushed that we lost....but your team and coaches were SPECTACULAR!! David Bell is AMAZING!! How in the hell have you guys lost any games with THAT defense??? Good luck the rest of the year kids!!!

Is it true that Iowa is thinking of retiring Davids number?
Outside of a couple busted plays at ND, the defense has been outstanding. The huge difference today was the performance of the offensive line and the execution of the quarterbacks. Both of which I think were aided by planning around the different abilities of all the quarterbacks instead of relying on one to do everything which they have shown they aren't so equipped to do against decent defenses.
For whatever reason, Coach Brohm brings his best versus Iowa. It's weird. We have the same issue with Fleck and Minnesota and anyone, really, at Wisconsin. And to some extent Fitzgerald as well.
Good luck the rest of the way. Your fans are the most gracious in the Big Ten. Almost always pulling for Iowa unless we're playing you or need you to lose for Purdue to win something significant.
About how have we lost 2 games.. think about if yesterday’s game was played in a monsoon. That was Minnesota. Also, no offense, but other DC’s had much better game plans. It seems Iowa’s is too stubborn or proud to tweak their defense for Purdue. Two weeks to prepare didn’t hurt either.
No offense taken. Many of our fanbase (me included) as well as most of the media felt as though we would be exposed by a team who could pass the ball effectively. I LOVE Parker...but yesterday was a terrible day by he and his staff. Even Brohm in his post game could not believe the defensive strategy we employed against Bell.

Yeah, PSU and Iowa fans have a real thing going, it seems. I was reading the Iowa board last week and they were giving it to the PSU fans. I visited PSU’s board yesterday and they had about 10 separate threads on the Iowa/Purdue game. Did that all start last week, or has something been brewing there for a while?
It all started last week.......I have a GREAT respect for the PSU fanbase. Our fans have brought out the worst in them. They actually have a right to be out of sorts with some of our fans.....

Iowa`s Blitz has been their medicine. You have to hand it to the OL, they held up to the Iowa Blitz in most cases and when Iowa played Base D, Purdue was able to run or throw... That makes for a long day...
Thanks. I have been treated well at Kinnick. One of my top 3 visitor venues as a Boilermaker, win or lose, along with Penn State and Nebraska. I've been to Rutgers where they were just resigned to whatever happens. The only Big Ten venue I haven't visited is Maryland. Good luck the rest of your season. There are more than a few games I can root for Iowa to win.
By the way, how do the Iowa fans feel about the Fran McCaffrey Defcon photos? They are pretty funny IMO. Your basketball coach does often seem like a seething cauldron who could explode at any moment.
I would LOVE to see a game at Purdue! On my bucket list. Come back to Kinnick as well!!! We are not sure what to think of Fran most days. LOL!!!
