Not knowing he was even a possibility for Purdue, I’ve heard good things about him as a high school player.Purdue basketball adds a preferred walk-on for next season: https://purdue.rivals.com/news/2024-in-state-guard-aaron-fine-commits-to-purdue-as-preferred-walk-on
Oh, a wise guy.wonder if he's a distant relative to Larry?
That region of the state, including Westfield.Under-recruited point guards from Noblesville have done well in the Big Ten in the past.
what is a preferred walk on anyway?
"No you're not getting a scholy, but we think you are "special"???

We should take a look at his teammate named Justin Curry, too, if we haven't already.Purdue basketball adds a preferred walk-on for next season: https://purdue.rivals.com/news/2024-in-state-guard-aaron-fine-commits-to-purdue-as-preferred-walk-on
Do they get to join the training table now?Essentially, guaranteed a roster spot but no athletic aid at this time....it's an opportunity to earn a scholarship down the road, though.
Not that long ago, a preferred walk-on for multiple seasons for Purdue earned a scholarship and played a key role for the Boilers - none other than Grady Eifert. Now, that doesn't happen frequently.....but....you never know for sure.
He might receive some NIL money which might be close to what a scholarship would be.
With NIL, who cares if a player is on scholarship or are a preferred walk-on? I am only interested if the cheerleaders are doing fine.
You're practice fodder. That's it....some have been good enough to get a school their senior season. It just means you don't have to try out to be on the team
Huh? Ever heard of Grady Eifert? You're practice fodder. That's it....some have been good enough to get a school their senior season.
True, but there is (or was) a practice squad that the team scrimmages with. And walk on's were a step above them. (really nothing) That's the reason I asked if walk on's get to eat with the team now. You're practice fodder. That's it....some have been good enough to get a school their senior season.
Another sport but wasn't Nick Hardwick also a walk on, and not even preferred???Huh? Ever heard of Grady Eifert?
Yep. And AOC. And Mockabee.Another sport but wasn't Nick Hardwick also a walk on, and not even preferred???
AOC...what a story! Guy is like 8th on depth chart, a real afterthought. Becomes a STARTER in the Big10, albeit a pretty depleted team at the time. Sets all kinds of records in his time here, including a stunning bowl win, while throwing to less than #1 receivers.Yep. And AOC. And Mockabee.
