I'll be watching both the game and looking for that announcement to break tomorrow as well.
As some have said, if there is no coached named this weekend, Purdue didn't play its cards well at all.

I see your point, but I could see a scenario where if it is someone like Fleck the announcement could be held off for another week. The proof of how well Purdue played its cards will be in whoever is named coach, no matter when they are named. I do hope that we don't let them do a Hazell and coach until January.

So if they waited until Wednesday to announce fleck, they didn't play their cards right?

Naming the right coach is much more important than when he is named. The timing of it and whether Purdue plays their cards right, is just a self-entitled sentiment.

Pretty sure you are going to be disappointed, at least I hope so. Fleck, Mullen, Strong etc can not happen by then. Sometime next week, even early the following week.

Why can't Fleck happen this weekend? It absolutely can happen. The bigger question is when he starts.

I don't think it's a must Fleck has to be here from day one....just has to shore up the commits.....only drawback will be how many commits we can pickup from the JC level.......we will probably need at least 4-5 good athletes to commit from the JC that can come in right away and start. HAZZ not being here from day one, would have made no difference what so ever........

The biggest problem I saw when Hazell delayed his start was in putting together his staff. By the time that was done, we were 2 months behind in recruiting and teaching. If new guy brings his whole staff with him, I think the early December start is less critical. That staff can devide the effort to retain commits, plus they have a group of recruits that they are already courting at the current school. Further they already have business plan in operation.
