A hypothetical about last nights rotation

Last night Aj and Cline were the reason we pulled away at the end, no doubt. My question is if Ray was healthy would he have been in there instead of cline? And how might that have affected things? With Pitt gaining momentum before Cline started knocking down shots I wonder if Painter wouldn't have preferred the steady hand of Davis to kind of settle things down instead of Cline. Do you guys think things would have been different?

Davis would've been in instead of Stephens or possibly Vince or Biggie.
Cline was put in for a reason and he came through.
That's how I see it at least. Davis can play different positions and Stephens was the 3 and Biggie and Edwards traded off at the 4.

I considered that but Stephens has been the first off the bench at the 2 every game, even with Dakota getting the start at the 2 in Davis' absence. That's what makes me think he'd prefer Kendall over Cline especially in a pressure situation where we needed a response.

This. Cline might not have been in the game at all if Davis was healthy. A lot of things could've been different, but we won.

Cline's been seeing floor time all season, including the games with Ray. I think Cline's minutes are more a function of the other team's defense rather than anything about the rotation. Teams are going to play packed zones and/or double our bigs. That's when the sharpshooters make them pay. Last night it was Cline. In other games its been Stephens, PJ, or Mathias.

Rotation should be skewed with less time to players not producing--last night that should have been Biggie and Stephens with less minutes. Biggie did rebound, but Hammons could have also from the 4. Surprisingly, last night Biggie was an offensive non factor. Painter might respond to that earlier. But hey, Painter won the game doing what he did....why sweat the small stuff?

Cline was there to kill whatever the D was as a situational player you will see him do the same all season to get balance between outside and inside.
