• Purdue got a visit yesterday from Illinois quarterback Steven Frank, who has a variety of Power Five offers. Still not sure if Purdue is taking a QB in this class, because the scholarship crunch is real right now, but Frank would seem like a guy they could target if they plan to to recruit one. Is Purdue even taking another DB? No idea. That's an important detail.
• Texas wide receiver Khalil Lacy was at Purdue yesterday also. Purdue's situation at wide receiver looks like a closed matter at this point, or at least closed to anyone who's not named Terrance Landers as far as we know. We still think he's a possibility.
• This is interesting and will be the subject of a story later this week. Many schools are recruiting Tampa area ATH Kee Whetzel as a wide receiver, some others as a linebacker or safety. Purdue wants the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder as a pass-rushing defensive end. That being said, consider him a legitimate Boilermaker target, because of the need there.
