I’m calling them from the couch at home. Can’t imagine how hard the DC is salivating when he gets us there.

Put up 20, but in the end their D was just tougher than ours. Play calling part of that, but so is experience.

Not brain surgery.....most Everytime we ran in short yardage......number 15 shot off the end untouched to make stops....put a damn blocking tight end on him....Harrell needs to be up in the booth so he can actually see the field....Help immensely with play calling.

We have coaches that do not understand the capabilities of their own team. The offensive line cannot push at the goal line. That was proven at the Fresno game.He keeps repeating the same mistake.I'm okay with a rookey coach as long as he learns from his mistakes.Right now he does not.

You think an O line at the beginning of the season is the same O line at the end of the season?
O lines get better over the course of the season from repetition.
How many of those guys are new?
You give up whole pages of plays because of 1 game?
;)

It's 3 games. Even the TV guys were talking about how bad Purdue is on 3rd/4th and short.

Will the O line get better? Maybe. But you don't keep running the same plays that aren't working right now hoping they get better. Hope isn't a strategy...

Exactly, you do things that will win now, not in hopes of it working eventually. Eventually you will destroy the mindset of the players if you don't put them in a position where they can execute.

You think we’ll be able to run up the middle v Iowa, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan when we couldn’t against Fresno and Syracuse? I don’t.

This coaching staff is in over their heads. The same bad decisions have been made for the last 3 weeks. From running the god awful read option to going on 4th down over and over. No adjustments made on defense the entire game. It's a bad look.
The read option worked much better in the second half— I can see now how that will compliment Card’s big arm, but it will be a crapshoot unless and until the OL gets its collective shit together….

the lack of screen passes is puzzling to me, don't call them on 3rd and 17 when the D is expecting but how about 3 and 8 or 9.

Our defense looked way better in the 2nd half of the Wisconsin game. We started blitzing and that actually got us a bunch of stops. We were just to far down to come back.

tell ya what, after seeing what the Philly eagles do w/ that qb sneak push play on 4th and short we should incorporate that in our O.

20 pts is nothing in modern college football. If a d is averaging 20 points a game then that's likely a 8 win season unless your oc is Brian ferentz.

20 pts per game puts you at ~100th place in scoring. 50th is ~30 pts. You need 35 pts per game to be in the top 25. We need to be scoring between 30 to 35 points a game before I let this anemic offense off the hook. Especially when it can't consistently convert 3rd and short.
