The republican philosophy on governance in the 21st century is quite simple: smash and grab.

After they lose control of congress again they are going to shriek about deficits, demand massive spending cuts to all non military programs, and block any kind of spending or tax increases until they win control again, and then the process is going to start over.

This was all about robbing the public to make their donors more wealthy. They have no intention of running a functioning government. They do not care about fiscal solvency. These are paid mercenaries looting the public coffers.

But Todd Rokita said more tax cuts would stimulate the economy, create more jobs and end the opiod crisis.!

But in the midst of a recession when stimulus was actually needed, these devils held fast and demanded spending cuts. There's gotta be a very special place in hell for proponents and supporters of these cruel and inhumane policies

The first cuts seem to be getting the economy rolling. Even Obama admits its doing good. He's now trying to take credit for it. What happened to his 'you didn't build that's quote.
CBO predicted a 3 trillion deficit increase due to the first round of cuts.
Serious question, where will the deficit be after this year?

In actuality the economic numbers have just been following the trend that started a few years before the 2016 election.

BOO HOO HOO the evil Rs won instead of the evil D's. These parties are so alike if the article didn't attach a letter to it you wouldn't know which one it was!

I seriously don't get conservatives. The unemployment numbers dropped for 6 straight years, GDP grew for 6 straight years, but they claimed it was terrible. The leaders changedthe numbers continued the exact same trend, but now it's all good.

Ok thanks-just moved back to WL in late summer and will be here for fall. I try to stay up with things, do not let politics consume to much time, definitely did not follow out of state primaries.

I wonder if primaries are necessary. The turnout in Indiana this year was a wopping 20 per cent of eligible voters and in 2014,the last off year,it was only 14 per cent. Most voters obviously dont care,so maybe the nominees should be selected in state conventions as they used to be..
