Over/Under 10 wins?... I said I expected no more than 5 wins this season in a previous post, but I'm so impressed with Katie that I could now see at least 10 wins... 10-21 looks bad on paper but if they're competitive and making progress as the season goes along and her recruiting of top shelf HS recruits and transfers continues to look bright, I may be saying 15+ wins in 2022-23. Hope I'm wrong and it's more than 10 wins this season. I just don't see the talent level yet though for much more than 10 wins right now. Again I hope I'm wrong. I do think Katie will bring some needed excitement back and I wish her lots of luck.

Yes, like any down program with a new coach what you are looking for is competitiveness and looking if they know what they are doing. Like Painter's first year, a losing one, but the team played hard and were in a lot of games. Next year, a winning record. Then recruit well and Go Katie.

To your credit you changed your initial post, 5 was silly, you’re a smarter fan than that. I’ll say easily over 10, I’d set the over/under at 15.5.

You pretty much matched my thoughts, including the comparison to Painter's first season. It was pretty easy to see that, even being short on ability and talent those guys played hard for Matt. That is exactly the type of thing I'll be watching for in Katie's first year, hopefully with more success. A couple other things I'll be watching for are some ACTUAL movement on offense and also kids enjoying the game. All too often in the last few seasons it seemed to me we've had kids not excited to be playing for Purdue.

Finished the non-conference games away from Mackey today with a 3-1 record. This team seems to have grown alot over the past 8 days while stepping up and competing against a higher level of competition. Hopefully that improvement will carry into that Georgia Tech game on Wednesday.

We wrap up non-conference play with 9 wins with a chance to notch our 10th win of the season before the calendar turns to 2022.

I know people who thought we'd only win 5 games all season......

And this with Ra Shaya Kyle still on a scooter. Impressive. So impressed with Woltman.

But B1G 4's and 5's will be much more difficult.

Updated this and bumping to keep on the 1st page. Plenty of things still on the table for this team with 6 games left.

At 13-10, a winning record is obviously in play. Assuming the worst-case scenario for postseason play is to lose first game of the conference tournament and the first game of another postseason tournament, we need to be 3 games over .500 at the end of the regular season to clinch a winning season. We could accomplish that by simply splitting our last six games. That should be within reach.

At 4-8, we need 5 wins in our last 6 to achieve a .500 conference record. That's a tall task but certainly something they could accomplish.

Obviously, the schedule isn't as top-heavy these last six games but our loss to Northwestern last week and having that home scare against Rutgers early in the season certainly shows me we can't take such games for granted just because we aren't playing a ranked team. Hopefully we can get things back on the winning track Wednesday against Penn State.
