2024 VB Commitments

Just looked at how many commitments Coach Shondell had out of the PrepVolleyball Top 50 for 2024 and there was only one - setter Allie Shondell who is ranked #38. Penn.State has two of the top 5 recruits and Wisconsin has one.

So it doesn’t look like Coach will have an amazing class next year like he did this year. But I have confidence in Dave and his coaches.

Purdue isn’t slated to lose many players are they? Guessing he’ll get 1 more top 50 though.

With the transfer portal the way it is - recruiting high school studs isn’t the priority like it once was.

Volleyball being such a team sport dependent on team chemistry I’m guessing Coach loaded the freshman class to make a run and in the next 1-2 years he recruits supporting pieces. Hopefully the freshman stay together like Otec/Cleveland/Newman/Bush/Johnson - that was a fun group!!
