You're looking at the entire season. Look at the NCAA tournament...they were 18-60 for 30%. The reason Jaden took shitty shots is because his other teammates, including a "3 point specialist" playing 35 minutes a game wasn't hitting shit the last 3rd of the season. And we expect this team all of a sudden to light it up from outside on a regular basis??? Gimme a break...
I'm sorry brother, I'm not following you. Why is the result of the three games in the tournament more predictive for next year than the entire rest of the season? Sasha and EHJ shot a combined 24% in the tournament, the rest of the team shot 36%. Gillis struggled in that three game stretch as well, going 0-1, 0-1 and 0-3, but got good looks that he normally knocked down.

The down-siders are based ever so loosely on some sort of extention (and exaggeration) of what happened in only the last game of the season. However, I got to say that Painter's history tends to support the up-siders, but I respect those that are honestly concerned. We also have a couple trolls on here just stirring the pot. They deserve little to no respect.
We made it to the S16 and the season was a failure. I think we can have a S16 season again, but realistically I think we are a slightly better than bubble team. There are people here who think we won’t make the tourney.
Purdue will likely be sitting very firmly on the bubble and that is only if Furst and one guard can make a great leap. Guards will hold Purdue back tremendously. Easily Painters were group of guards he's had on paper. But you don't simply replace a kid that's a top 6 NBA pick with just anyone.
He was a top 6 pick because of his potential and athleticism not what he put on the court for us. He did not play like a top 6 pick against St. Peter’s. I would rather ryan cline than what we got in the tourney from ivey.

Ivey was not the problem. It was our talent level at guard after him. From ivey to sasha/hunter is a huge dropoff. Other than moore, carsen, and ivey, there really has just been a complete lack of talent at guard throughout painters tenure. After those 3 I'd take a cline or lewjack, but everybody else has been so 'meh' at guard for us.

He deserved to be an all American and had a poor game partly due to being double teamed and a great game plan by thr peacocks and partly due to questionable game planning by Purdue. The novelty of being #1 for a week was fun and Ivey and his teammates were behind that. Carsen didn’t take them there on his own. Cline was huge, maybe most important player against tennessee, eifert and haarms were very good. Again my point isn’t to crap on Ivey or Edwards, it’s to point out we can win big with role players like Cline, Haarms, Eifert. No one would ever have thought painters most successful team had 0 first round draft picks let alone a top 6 pick, and staters featured a walk-on, 3 players who couldn’t crack the top 100 in their recruiting class, and a guard who couldn’t shoot.
