So how would you rank the following:
Brooks
Jackson-Davis
Okoro
Can Brooks play the 3? Would Painter take more than 1 if they were interested?
I would love to see land KBJ and Davis, but I don't see that happening unless they sign Tyger. Right now Painter has two open with two more opening up (Cline and Ewing). Taylor could possibly move on, allowing Tyger +3. I would love to see Thompson and 2 of the above mentioned. Purdue would be incredibly set. Thompson could possibly redshirt if Purdue misses on Tyger.
The other 3 players mentioned would all be contributors if not starters. I think Okoro would likely start off behind Williams, but would still see plenty of time because the 4 is an area of need, as highlighted by Eifert getting big minutes early this year.
The 3 is another big need, which would allow KBJ to step right in an start, just edging out Wheeler (unless Wheeler puts on some weight/muscle while keeping that same speed).
Jackson-Davis would have to beat out Haarms and Dowuana. He looks like he has the skill to do it, but it wouldn't be a given. Haarms looks miles ahead of schedule. Dowuana looks like he will be a beast at the next level as well.
The big need for next year is a wing and a 4. If Purdue doesn't land Tyger, then guard would also be a need. If Purdue lands KBJ and Okoro they are a title contender. They wouod have some youth, but Carsen as a senior, Wheeler/Eastern/Haarms as juniors they would also have plenty of leadership.
Purdue needs to make some noise. This team is very complete and loaded with talent. Painter needs to make a final four with this squad if he wants even a shot at 3 top 50 players.
