Iowa and Wisconsin travel to Purdue in November, which should make for interesting match ups. David Bell day will be held for the annual Iowa-Purdue showdown.
Big Ten Network color guy Chuck Long has been on a speaker tour for his book and his subject of leadership in Iowa. Chronicles Hayden Fry and his turnaround of a 19 year downturn of Iowa football.
Purdue was a central figure in that downturn against Iowa. Iowa would have a couple winning seasons had it not been for the streak!
Long suggested the 2018 race in the B1G West is wide open, though Wisconsin is the clear team to beat.
I am pretty sure I recall Chuck Long was very high on Coach Jeff Brohm's hire a year ago. He is similar with the hire of Scott Frost at Nebraska.
The State of the B1G West is pretty positive with the developments in 2017-2018.
I believe Lovie Smith will be given time at Illinois. He brings in the RichRod offense, minus the architect himself, but one of his last QBs and OCs from Arizona, so that should be interesting, as well.
Pat Fitzgerald and Kirk Ferentz are #2 and #1 as longest tenured coaches in Big Ten. Ferentz holds it nationally, since Bill Snyder, OC for Iowa back when Long was QB, took a leave at Kansas State.
The coaching changes are more likely in the State of Kansas soon, rather than the Big Ten, in football. Back to Big Ten football?
