Not a sexy class but there are some guys who will play early and 2 stars with at least potential to be very good. Hopefully our coaches can develop these guys well.
OL - Love the pickups as they all seem to be "mean" which is what you want in a lineman. Good on them for getting local product Truitt.
QB - What is not to like about Sindelar. He committed early and told schools to stop recruiting him. He even tore his ACL to fit right in. Love his attitude.
RB - I also love our running back class. Jones will play early and Worship reminds me of Cottom without the getting in the coaches doghouse part. Fuller could leverage his physicality too.
WR - I really like that the JUCO's have size and we finally have jump ball threats. Mahoungou. This should assist our QB's this season if he earns a spot. This is a big wakeup call for David Yancey.
TE - Lacking star power as they aren't plug in and go. On a potential standpoint I love them. Trussell could be dangerous once he packs on some pounds, he plays mean. Due to our depth chart I thought we would have been able to land a pretty good TE, but these guys may surprise us.
DT - Eddy Wilson looks to be a very good grab. He may not play right away but he can spend the year bulking up. He may have been a MAC guy but he is one of those good MAC guys that we stole. Glad we could hold onto him.
DE - No sexy picks but it at least helps us with depth. Hopefully Henley can be that stop gap guy.
LB - Cook reminds me of Shaun Robinson, but with more experience at the position. Love these LB's with wrestling backgrounds. Bailey looks very aggressive and Sawyer looks fast. We need to keep Freeman around as a typical weak Purdue position is now becoming our greatest strength. Keep it going.
DB - We grabbed some speedy guys and some ball hawks. Hopefully we can get some early contributors or at least for immediate depth.
Kickers - Put it between the sticks and I am a happy camper.
NOTE: Thank you to the coaching staff for not offering Keshawn Vaughan's best friend. It would have been awesome to get him but not at the expense of another scholarship that would most likely be a waste. I could be wrong and his buddy could end up being very good but good on the staff for sticking for their guns and not offering the kid just to try and get Vaughan.
We have the worst BIG class, but lets hope our coaches can get the most out of these guys. With an extra scholarship or 2 maybe we can get a couple of good transfers in the offseason.
