While most other colleges have loaded up with their coaches, we are waiting for 2 to be hired.
Granted they are O.C. and D.C. vs head coach splashing headlines, we still should have had a short list and worked the late night shifts to get them in place. Every bit as hard as the recruiting trail itself, we should have names in place. If the positions are not named before Christmas, I'd like to know why. I'm wondering if several thanks but no thanks are responses coming in.

Its not uncommon for position coach hires to go into January or February.

Im not a Hazell fan, but this isnt uncommon.

I'm not surprised at all.

On the stages of opportunities. Purdue will be low middle (rock bottom of P5 opportunities, lower than strong mid-majors, probably in line with middle tier midd major jobs)

I would see the candidate:

Fall back for mediocre / somewhat desired coaches (didn't get p5 position coach or failed coach trying to catch on somewhere)

Or

Stretch job for up and comer who will try to skip a stepping stone.

Or

If the above don't pan out than we go internal

The "coaching carousel" will need to go nearly full cycle until people would commit to us.

February sounds late to me. But heck why not set up a job fair at the spring game.

I felt all along that Purdue would hire from within. Not sure why they just don't make it official?
