the fact purdue is top 20ish the year After losing one of the nations top players....
shows how far the program has come in terms of recruiting/development/stability.
the type of foundation and continuity to take those 'next steps'
I think the coaching challenge for CMP this year, is winning the B10, but while doing so, developing the 17 class well enough along the way, so the drop off one might expect next year, with the exit of the seniors, isn't so drastic.
if we had won the WUG, I could see us ranked 12th-15 but not really much higher. The key to our rankings will be how well we do at Atlantis and the teams we beat. if we win Atlantis, I can see a top 10 ranking. if we do well, I can see top 10-15. if we bomb, we'll drop out of the rankings for now. let the games begin! .
I'm not going to complain about our ranking, however I'd love to see them do away with preseason rankings. I know Purdue lost their best player, but tell me another power conf sweet 16 team that did and is returning 4 senior starters. With a rank out of the top 15
