ELEVEN!!! When was the last time we held a Power 5 team to that many yards?????
I can remember a game in the early 1960s where the Offense couldn't move the ball, but the Defense sure did. They really backed the other team up, sometimes huge distances, but I don't know what the actual yardage gained was by that team.ELEVEN!!! and w/ a really good RBELEVEN!!! When was the last time we held a Power 5 team to that many yards?????
hoping for Strickland to develop tooOur front 5 is very good against the run. We struggled to get a pass rush at times but Nic and Jenkins are becoming good edge rushers. I also really like #5.
Yes, that was great. We are usually on the other end of these stats.ELEVEN!!! When was the last time we held a Power 5 team to that many yards?????

The full top 10:Previous road record was 13 at Arizona in 2005.
The overall team record was holding Louisville to -31 yards in a 1987 game. There are four other games where Purdue held a team to negative rushing yards, plus a game where htey held Northwestern to two in 1985.
Excellent stuff. Thanks Travis!Previous road record was 13 at Arizona in 2005.

Thanks. As i remember it those games against Wisconsin and Minnesota in 1965 were in back to back wins at Ross Ade late in the year.Purdue topped the Badgers 45 to 7 and the Gophers 35 to 0.The full top 10:

I believe that the Wisconsin game was where the referees near the end of the game made sure to give Wisconsin a TD by marching them down the field on multiple bogus calls and then immediately threw up their hands for a TD on a long pass caught in front of me far beyond the back end of the end zone. That meaningless series of plays is as bad as bad refereeing can get, phony calls one after another so Wisconsin for some reason could have a TD or Purdue not have a scoreless game by an opponent. On that note, hopefully this year the refs won't determine again the results of the Syracuse game.Thanks.As i remember it those games against Wisconsin and Minnesota in 1965 were in back to back wins at Ross Ade late in the year.Purdue topped the Badgers 45 to 7 and the Gophers 35 to 0.
We held PSU to only 18 yards in 2004. Wow. How'd we do that? The full top 10:

I was at that game in Happy Valley. Penn State had lost a couple of games early that folks felt they shouldn't have, and at a student rally Friday night Joe Pa had GUARANTEED the win. Orton and Co. had other ideas. We were waaaaay up in the upper corner deck (think it might have been a white out) cheering like crazy. Started that year 5-0, beat ND, nationally ranked....and then WIsky and "The Fumble". Ugh. That started the streak. Time to BREAK it!!!!!We held PSU to only 18 yards in 2004. Wow. How'd we do that?

Louisville game was my first football game as a student (my first game overall was the Rod Woodson IU game). As I recall, Howard Schnellenberger was the Louisville coach and the game ended in a tie. And thus began the Fred Akers era that ran during my four years there. The full top 10:

Ironically, that was my first Purdue game ever. I was in 2nd grade.Louisville game was my first football game as a student (my first game overall was the Rod Woodson IU game). I attended an Akers game around that same time, a curb stomping at the hands of MSU. Watching the students throw marshmallows at each other was the only real entertainment that afternoon.Louisville game was my first football game as a student (my first game overall was the Rod Woodson IU game). Ugh... the Akers years. That was rough. The absolute bottom of the program until the three+ years of the Haze. If it's any consolation, most of my time was the Colletto years, which weren't much better. At least my senior year was Tiller's first in '97. It was glorious.Louisville game was my first football game as a student (my first game overall was the Rod Woodson IU game).
