Talk of coaching tactics aside, can you forsee this team going 9 (sometimes 10) players deep on a regular basis?

I can see 9 get regular minutes. The wild cards are Eastern and Haarms. The other thing that I think forces more people is Haas changes the dynamic enough that some additional guys may fit the non Haas rotation. Basically you got a team effective with Haas and a team effective without Haas - how many guys will play in both? Vince, Carson, Dakota - yes. PJ, Cline - probably. Others - ? Will be interesting to see it evolve. Could be painful as well.
Carson, PJ, Dakota, Vince, Isaac, Cline, Eastern, HaarmsI see eight guys getting core minutes, including Eastern and Harms. Those two are going to play.
The wild cards are Ewing, Taylor, and Wheeler.

My prediction - Haarms will play a lot. Maybe up to 20 mpg.First of all, it's good to see you back here.
I see the 6 core returnees + Eastern taking up all the minutes for the 1-3, 30+ mins at the 4, and around 25 mins at the 5. That leaves somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 mpg left backing up the 4 & 5.
Given their lack of game experience at this level, I don't expect Haarms or Taylor is ready to take all 25 minutes and play consistently good basketball. I guess that means I'm predicting a 9-man rotation.
I can also imagine Wheeler/Grady/Ewing potentially getting playing time along the lines of Bryson at the end of his career here or Basil as a soph. They regularly might not even get in games, but there might be certain nights where Painter uses them for 10+ mins.
It seems like there will be lots of options for Painter this season which means that will give us armchair coaches plenty of opportunities to second guess.

If Taylor can return and play10-15 minutes/game, Purdue should be able to wear down opponents.I agree, I think he brings too much to the table to leave him off the regular rotation. A big, skilled 7'3 guy who can hit from 15+ feet away. His offense alone will keep him in, as long as he runs the motion with fluidity, he'll get easy buckets from mis matches. His defense will all be gravy, which from what I've seen, is pretty good.

And with Haarms being a viable option, I hope the staff can figure a way to allow Taylor to have impact while reducing the risk of injury. It all depends on Taylor's health. If he's not available, Haarms will play 20 minutes a game. If he is healthy, he'll play 10+mpg, and it'll be situational
And pretty good defense might be an upgrade at that position.I agree, I think he brings too much to the table to leave him off the regular rotation.
