    Hurley to Kentucky?

Yeah, personally I see it as being the other way around. If he wins, he might have the "Well, I've done all I can here, let's try a new challenge!" mindset.

    Hurley to Kentucky?

    1) Kentucky is a top 3 job in college basketball. Period. 2) UConn has money, but Kentucky has more. Hurley is currently getting about 5 mil a year. Kentucky could throw 12 at him (bear in mind, Kentucky has SEC TV money coming out of their ears and they put alot more value on basketball...

    Under-seeded teams

The only argument for an underseeded team would be NCState. Their 11 is based upon their overall body of work, but they supposedly had a few injuries over the course of the year (heard from someone else, not confirmed) and the end of the year was when they were finally healthy. Even then...

Tennessee fans are the absolute worst. A reasonable Vol fan posted that the better team won and he's catching all kinds of hell from Vol fans...

If you read through their entire game thread, count the number of times that a post wishes injury on Edey or another Purdue player (even to the point of someone saying "if anybody there can get on the court and take out Edey I will Venmo you some money". The number is at least 20. Some of those...

    OT ky down

I looked through his game log. He had a couple other games where he went off (31 and 27). You would think after his 5th made 3 that Cal might call a time out and make it a bit of an emphasis that someone should be guarding him.

2024 NCAA Tournament - First Round Games

Rupp Rafters crashed. Excessive traffic, or did the mods pull the plug on purpose?

    What an idiot and jerk

I honestly didn't know that he didn't work for ESPN anymore. Last I heard him was on ESPN radio about 8 years ago. Can't say I've missed him. Politics aside, wol is right. He did this for the clicks and everyone obliged.

    Purdue stat, heading into tournament...

Tennessee actually played 18 games against tournament teams. Granted, one of those games was against NCSt (who was a bid thief) and two were against Texas A&M which was one of the last teams in. They had no losses to non-tournament teams, so they went 10-8 against tournament teams.

    Izzo

IIRC, Painter is now 18-16 against Izzo. I honestly don't know if any other coach has a winning record against him.

    Championship Week thread

The regulation ending to the Marquette Villanova game was a masterfully drawn up play by Shaka Smart. Tie game. Marquette gets the ball at the Villanova baseline with 2.8 seconds left. The inbounder pitches the ball all the way past half-court so that the Marquette player that catches it can...

Anyone else feel that there's a good chance...

The win streak is nice, but in reality, they beat: -A free-falling Wisconsin team that has lost 8 of its last 11. -The 12th place team (road) -The 10th place team (road) -The 8th place team (home).....barely I put the odds of them winning each game @ PSU: 75% Nebraska: 40% Illinois: 10%

    # Of B10 NCAAT teams?

OSU has a better chance than Iowa. If OSU beats Iowa and Illinois, they've got a decent shot (depending on bid stealers). Iowa would need to win OSU, Illinois, and Nebraska/IU to even be considered. IU has no shot unless they win the tournament. Period. Their metrics are just that poor. OSU...

    # Of B10 NCAAT teams?

I think it comes down to three things. 1) They have played a tough schedule 2) Most of their wins are by 10+ points (especially early season) 3) Almost all of their losses are less than 10 points. It's a way to game the system. For example, Storr's petty move of stealing the ball and scoring...

    # Of B10 NCAAT teams?

Iowa's bubble probably just popped. They would have to win three BTT games to get back on the right side. OSU has a slim chance, but probably needs 2 wins (one of those being Illinois).

    # Of B10 NCAAT teams?

MSU is probably still in. Their NET is still really high. If they lose the Thursday game of the BTT, they might be sweating a bit, but I think they would still make. Now, you can (validly) argue that they don't deserve to be in, but the computer metrics love them.

    Purdue 77, Illinois 71 - Game Recap

Yeah, I understand the theory, it's just that when you are dealing with Edey and the knowledge that he draws more fouls than any other player in the game, it seems like a bad idea to help it along. I guess it depends upon your faith in Big Ten refs (gulp). Up until that time, the refs were...

    Purdue 77, Illinois 71 - Game Recap

If you watched Underwood's presser, he said that they were fouling on purpose (Hansberry). Essentially saying that they wanted Purdue in the bonus so that if the end of the game was tight, they could extend the game with 1 and 1 free throws by Purdue. (Ie. they had fouls to give). Not sure I...

Is Purdue in a disguised February slump?

I think it is a little of both. As the year goes on, things just get a little harder. 1) Classes are getting harder, into the meat of the time requirements for homework / studying for mid-terms. 2) The season does kinda wear you down. The players know that they are a lock for the tournament...

Purdue vs. Gophers tonight!! How do you see it playing out?

Garcia took a hit late in the Iowa game, and was potentially not going to be available tonight. Even if he is, he may not be 100%.
