Sampson James in the Portal Again

This is not true. It may have been agreed upon, but it wasn’t involuntary.

Sampson James in the Portal Again

This is fact. He's a good kid with a big heart, and I hope the very best for his future.

    Gillis

Our disagreement may be more in our evaluation of what Grady brought to this team as opposed to Gillis. The skills you mention is what I meant by the "2.0" part of the comparison. Gillis is certainly good enough to get paid to play at some point. I doubt he makes it to the league, but if...

He's Grady Eifert 2.0 Does little things that don't show up in a box score, plays his butt off, makes shots, and flourishes against physical play.

    Masks In Mackey

Yes, masks will be required for the entire game. Indoor facilities at Purdue have had a mask requirement for the entire semester. Faculty, students, and staff are all required to wear masks while indoors. Having taught courses & conducted my entire work day while wearing a mask for months...

    U19 Games TV or stream??

I just watched the first half of their game vs Senegal, and Edey's play was impressive. He looks much like the player we watched last season, but more refined. He never seemed to lack for confidence, but now looks more comfortable on the floor. His upper body seems slightly more defined in...

    Myles Colvin: Must get!

If I had to guess, he won't be as explosive or as quick as Ivey (few are, which is why he's a potential lottery pick), but he'll end up being stronger. The Ivey comparison just isn't very helpful.

    Myles Colvin: Must get!

I don't know about the comparisons to Ivey, but he looks a hell of a lot better than I expected. Good shooting form, nice handles with either hand (albeit against some suspect defensive pressure), and the physical frame you would expect from Colvin's kid. He could be a very good player

    Mare of East Town

Really good show on HBO right now. The latest episode was some of the best TV I've seen in a while. Included in the episode was a scene where a few folks were sitting on the couch drinking beer & watching a Penn State basketball game. I'm reasonably sure they were playing Purdue's baby boilers...

    Matt Haarms

If I'm picking at the playground, I'll take Edey & you can have Haarms. Edey would bury Haarms in the post in a five alarm barbecue chicken alert. 😉

    Matt Haarms

This team is as deep as any Purdue team I can recall, and I can't imagine what the rotation would look like had Haarms or Nojel stayed. My educated guess is that they saw the writing on the wall, and that played a role in why their time at Purdue came to an end.

    Matt Haarms

I disagree with the premise that Edey would not be getting minutes had Haarms stayed. The kid is too good to keep on the bench, and while Haarms may have cut into his floor time, he'd still be playing (and contributing).
