Super conference

Maybe you have seen a podcast where venture capital made a pitch to the combined SEC and Big 10 athletic directors (meeting I guess going on now in Nashville). So big money but includes relegation of some teams to make room for new teams based on TV viewership. So Purdue, Nw, Mississippi State and Vandy would drop out or get reduced payments. Top viewership teams nationally were ND, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Ohio State. SEC commissioner said they really don’t need the money but it would have to be looked at. It’s on Utube. Don’t shoot the messenger. Haha

Few things to consider about PFB moving forward

It’s painfully obvious that CRW was not the first option for Bobo. It’s a product of all of the other options either using us for a pay raise or outright saying no. This was not a surprise to me and it shouldn’t be a surprise to any of you. We might be the cradle of QBs but we are not a football powerhouse. It’s really easy to understand why certain prospective coaches said ‘nah’.

This season is lost. Figure out how you decide to believe and accept it and move on in your own way. I’ll still watch our games and I’ll still root for our team as many of you guys will, too.

The biggest thing to look forward to is the House decision that college schools can spend up to 23.1 millions to student athletes in a calendar year. How will Purdue athletics decide to distribute that? Being a land grant U that takes no AD funds from the traditional institution, I’d expect us to be able to spend literally all of that on our student athletes.

That might allow us to ‘buy’ the type of players that make a CRW defense (1-high safety) shine in college again like it did at ILL and then we’re all back on the bandwagon.

Just some thoughts.

Gender Dysphoria debate

An evolutionary Biologist along with the video makers have a debate/conversation with a Psychologist on gender dysphoria. It is a very interesting conversation. One of the things that comes up is the fact that several countries have done SEGM's which apparently are the highest standard in review and have stopped giving sex change surgeries to children because the evidence does not support doing so. Also, it was brought up that gender dysphoria is a social contagion. Bulimia was an example brought up where the cases of women using the method to lose weight exploded once it was brought to public attention.

Here's the Germany SEGM.

"A new study (now available in English) from Germany poses a formidable challenge to the presumption of permanence of gender dysphoria in adolescents and young adults. German insurance data, containing medical claims for about 14 million insured persons aged 5–24, indicate that over 60% of young people diagnosed with "Gender Identity Disorder" (F64) no longer have the diagnosis 5 years later, indicating low diagnostic stability."

"There has been an overall 8-fold increase in the prevalence of gender-identity-related diagnoses (F64), overrepresented among adolescent females over the last decade."

This last sentence is shining a light on the social contagion, since gender dysphoria was primarily a male issue in the past, where now it's mostly females presenting as having dysphoria.

Just curious...Are the transfer WR's and CB's still 4 star players?

Just curious...Are the transfer WR's and CB's still 4 star players (This was supposed to be a top 30 recruiting class? or were really 3 star players with inflated rankings because they were recruited by SEC schools? Right now I would say that they are 2 star players based upon their contributions.

CJ Smith - Has not played
Kam Brown 2 catches for 68 yards
De' Nylon Morrissette 7 catches for 67 yards

How much NIL $ did we pay these three to produce 135 total yards in 5 games?

Add Jahmal Edrine to the mix and you only get 7 more catches and 103 additional yards

I can only speak for myself but as I type I wish that Burks, Sheffield, and Yaseen were still here. Stats show that they performed SIGNIFICANTLY better than the current WR corps.

The CB room was supposed to be a strength with Green being the best of the bunch. Must be the scheme because he was horrid yesterday.

BTW haven't heard from Cillerdo in awhile.......Bless his heart!

Antione West likely picking Purdue

Sounds like West to Purdue is a done deal. I think he's a great get for the Purdue program. A smooth combo guard. Has a great shot. Will bring more value to a program than a one and done. Now, just hoping Purdue to land a stretch 4 to pair with him, which will cover all of Purdue's needs for this 2025 class.

Success of 'next man up' under Painter

As much as I give posters here grief about being limited in their ability and willingness to project player performance that's different from what they've seen, the majority of recent Purdue stars were really good early in their career. Does that mean that Trey and Fletch are unlikely to blow up as juniors?

Do you agree with my list below? What would you add or change? What does that mean for the outlook for guys like Trey, Fletch, Cam and Myles?

Guys who starred early - Carsen, Biggie, JI, Baby Boilers, Braden
Guys with a slower trajectory - Zach, Vince, AJH, Trevion, Haas
Guys who stalled out - Haarms, Nojel
Guys who blew up late - Cline
