Is the portal the way?

I don't think so. I think that's it's the problem. You pay lots of money as a coach for a supposed good player, and then they're not that great, or have poor play. Do you continue to play them so you don't admit that you made an expensive mistake, or replace them with someone else. thereby admitting your poor decision. And then how do your not paid players feel about someone doing somewhat similar to what they're doing, or possibly worse, getting paid to do it when you aren't. I think that those are reasons that Ryan Browne was successful today. He's talented, and his teammates are willing to put themselves out for another of the unpaid ranks, when they probably were resentful of Hudson Card. He personally got in their faces to have them perform.

I always remember the Oakland A's and their World Series teams living locally at that time. A bunch of nobody's that played well together as a team won. And then after they had made names for themselves, their egos destroyed the team, probably because they thought that someone less deserving was now making more money than them. I think that the team loved Mockabee getting a scholarship as he deserved one, and it was placing him on an equal footing with them. But then bringing in new players and paying them lots of money when the others got nothing certainly had to affect them, and never in a positive way for team play.

Freshman Browne leads near-comeback in OT thriller

Purdue was terrible. Then it was perfect. Then it came up just, excruciatingly short. How the Boilers climbed to the brink of a startling upset in a wild night in Champaign:

Dickinson predicted Big 12 POY

Well after playing college ball for what seems like 20 years ( actually 5th year covid)there nominating him preseason POY. Outside of the fact I hate the way he runs down the court on his tip toes and does that routine after a 3 ball , it's good to see someone a year away from SS get some recognition. I'll miss Edey dominating him under the basket. Was always glad he didn't wear black and gold. Instead we got some kid ranked 420+? nationally that was POTY twice during his regular college career. Wonder if he'd gotten a 3rd if he stayed his covid year.

Next potential win

Looking at the remaining games, there is no team left I feel we can beat. MAYBE NW and an outside shot at indinia, but that historic loss has left me with zero hope for this team or the coaching staff.

I know I'm not alone and regurgitating what many others have said, but there is nothing to suggest right now that we can muster another win let alone 2 more.

I honestly hope I am wrong and all of us I have little doubt would love to see things turn around, but it's not just that we lost but HOW we lost as well.

FEMA running out of money?

Why is FEMA running out of money according to this recent AP article?

With hurricane season just starting in June with no big ones until this monster.......and help is just getting going now .....

Would be interested if anyone knows why money is short?

New AD?

So the real center of the problem is the AD. Mark my words, the womens basketball team is going to follow in the same footsteps as our football team. Bobinski is the problem. I'd like us to go after someone like Brad Bates who was a helluva AD at Vandy, BC, and Miami/Oh. Currently he is on the board of one of the best leadership research groups for placing AD's and others. Maybe we could sway him back into the AD biz? https://collegiatesportsassociates.com/previous-placements/

Purdue - Nebraska Volleyball

Purdue lost a heartbreaker 3-2 to #2 Nebraska, at Nebraska. Sets were 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 22-25 and 15-17. Purdue had match point at 15-14 in set 5 but Nebraska scored the final 3 points. Purdue made it difficult for themselves with 19 service errors in the match (and only 1 service ace). Still Purdue’s best match of the season to date.

This team is a slap in the face to our fans

This team is just an absolute slab in the face to the fans. With the number of season tickets sold and sell outs, you would think that we would and could put out a competitive team with the fan support shown.
This team would be lucky to be mid level in the MAC. We have a QB whose greatest strength is his legs. We never use it. Worst WR group in probably 8 to 10 years. They have no hands, cannot separate and never come back to help the QB. OL is better than last year. Enough said.
On defense, we let backups destroy our line and secondary. We put no pressure on the QB. We allowed almost 600 yards of offense today. Other teams find our holes, which are many, all the time. This is from a DC who is our head coach.
The team has quit on Walters. Don’t blame them with this coaching. We are an absolute joke of a team. Thank goodness for basketball season coming up. If you are a fan, our biggest holiday gift will be doing what everyone knows should happen, which is to fire the entire coaching staff and start from scratch.
