Purdue football The Morning After: Takeaways from Purdue’s 50-49 loss to Illinois

The Morning After: Boiler Upload’s takeaways on the heels of Purdue’s 50-49 overtime loss to Illinois.

What are your thoughts on yesterday’s game?

Team speed and quickness

……in my opinion single biggest issue with this team. Slow at every position. DL can’t get to QB or contain the edge. LBs slow to get to gaps and can’t stop runs wide. DBs incapable of 1v1 coverage. OL can’t protect QB. Looks like they are playing in mud. RBs go hard but once they get to second level can’t break away. WRs have zero deep threat to stretch the field. When the offense does manage to break through the defense the ball carrier is always caught from behind. Buy a stopwatch for whoever is next coach.

The demos and Harris are getting desperate

Polling shows Kammy is falling further behind with black male voters, so what do they do? They do what democrats always do....offer free stuff.
Keep in mind, this is for black men only (which sounds slightly racist in and of itself).
"Forgivable" $1M government loans. (If I identify as black, can I get a free loan also?)
Legalize weed.
A national health equity initiative focused on Black men
Free 40 oz malt liquor (Ok, I made that one up).

This is pandering at a level we've never seen. Of course, non of them would ever be implemented.

Purdue football Ryan Browne to start against Oregon

Ryan Walters announced Ryan Browne will be the starter against Oregon coming off his dazzling performance on Saturday, but Purdue’s QB position remains a question mark moving forward.

Bielema Out for Blood…

Wonderful. I just read how Bielema is still upset with Walters taking other coaches, support staff, & players with him when he left plus Walters has apparently been running his about his time at Illinois. As I’ve posted before, I have absolutely no respect for Walters due to some recruiting stories that I heard second-hand from someone I’d trust with my life so I won’t be sad when he’s gone. That said, I don’t want to see our program decimated either and it sounds like a guarantee that a nearly 80 year old record for largest Illini margin of victory will fall in a couple hours as Bielema has his team fired-up & ready to be the reason their former coach loses the job that he abandoned them for…
