IU did not deserve to be in CFP. Great article by USA Today

A Purdue grad is stating that we should flat out ignore the objective numerical data? You really think that ND was playing backup players when IU cut it to ten and had a two point conversion pending and a minute left? You are flat out inaccurate.

It was 27-17. I’ll even give you a link as proof:

And back to my question; name those three teams that you think were more deserving than IU, SMU, and Clemson (and while you’re at it, name a 4th for Az St, who is also ranked below IU in the CFP).

Name them!
Pretty pathetic at 11:57 you posted on a Purdue forum…. And then edited it.

Why you so obsessed lol. Like herbstreit said there is deserving (iu did deserve it) and then there is the better teams. I’m not convinced indiana is not better than other teams not in the playoffs, maybe I’ll feel different if ND smokes Georgia tomorrow. 99% of Indiana friends I know acknowledge it was a fun season and they are able to enjoy the ride of a fortuitous schedule. It’s you 1% that can’t accept the he unbiased and factual stats that show you weren’t that great and spending NYE here for inexplicable reasons.

He is back before it is official!

New YorkCNN —
US Steel shareholders overwhelmingly approved a deal for the iconic American manufacturer to be purchased by Japan’s Nippon Steel. But the outlook for the controversial merger has never looked so bad.

The deal is significant, not just for the future of what is still a key US industry central to building everything from cars to appliances to roads and bridges, it is also at the center of election year politics and relations between the United States and Japan, a major ally.

There was no resistance from Biden to this takeover.

Where's your concern about this move?
Yeah, this has been going on for a couple of years now. US based steel company Cleveland Cliffs has 3 steel mills along here on Lake Michigan near Gary, IN US Steel. US Steel rejected Cliffs’ offer to buy. US Steel accepted Nippon’s offer. It was agreed that US Steel would keep its iconic name.

The USW union has been fighting this since day one. Nippon has promised the union that they will continue to invest billions of dollars in upgrades to ensure that these US Steel facilities continue to operate for decades to come. The mayor of Gary, IN is excited by the potential purchase. US Steel has facilities in Mon Valley and Clairton near Pittsburgh. Those mayors are supporting the purchase also.

Meanwhile, both Chump and Biden have been outspoken about the proposed Nippon US Steel purchase. They both are against this. Right now, the ball is in Biden’s court. Supposedly he has the power to reject this purchase. A decision is reportedly to be made soon by Biden.

Personnally I wished that US Steel would have accepted the bid to buy from Cleveland Cliffs. Nippon offered a lot more. If Nippon’s promises billions in upgrades and 10 years of jobs security come true then it may turn out to be a good deal. Because currently there is a reason that US Steel wants to sell. I’m not sure in its current state of affairs that they will or will not close any plants.

I'm skeptical that next year will produce a more level playing field. With the spineless NCAA and the recent decision to give extra years to juco transfers, I fully expect the madness of NIL$$$ buying grown men for teams continuing. Face it, why would you ever leave school if all you had to do was play ball and collect a check. Most of these older players aren't NBA material and they can make more than if they had to go to Europe to play.
That juco ruling was wild.. I can’t predict what that will do. I also don’t fully understand why the courts hate the ncaa making rules so much. It feels like organizations are allowed to create rules in every other case.

Regardless, I am hopeful about the step back as well. No more Johni Broomes as COVID seniors.

Stop saying indiana lost by 10. They scored 14 points against some backup players playing a prevent defense on the final 90 seconds. It was a 24 point gsme and a blowout. Just accept it and move on

Colvin and Heide yikes

I fully expect an "L" at Rutgers... as I hate playing there and I think they have at least one guy on that team in his 30s (sarcasm for those with no sarcasm detector). 4 and 1 over that stretch isn't a bad way to go though.
Always a tough out at Rutgers. Happy to get that young team on the road early and in Mackey later in the season.

Okay … I’ll bite:

IU was the 9th highest rated team and the ten seed. They lost by ten.
The 11 seed SMU lost by 28.
The 12 seed Clemson lost by 14 and it was never close by halftime.

It’s a 12 team playoff…
Who are your three teams who should have been in over SMU, IU, and Clemson?

Or are you going to be that guy who says they should cancel the playoffs because there are more slots than you personally wanted?

You are trying to find a loop hole pertaining to IU and the CFP. You know IU should have never been there. I'm going to guess they'll be major changes that this doesn't happen again in the future.

IU had 1 won against a top 7 B1G team and beat a bunch of bottom dweller's....... Purdue included. If you believe the bottom half of the B1G is that good then that's your opinion, but it's clearly blinded with Crimson glasses.

You played 2 ranked teams and got dog walked in both....CFP worthy🤣🤣.... facts!!

Every top half sec team is almost all seniors/covid seniors. Probably makes a large difference. Hopefully regresses to the mean some next year
I noticed that with Auburn, they are extremely experienced.

I'm probably beating a dead horse because I post this every week it seems, but CBB talent and transfer portal selection will take a huge hit next year without the covid year.

IF they can keep roster in tact and add the right Lance Jones fit at biggest roster hole, Purdue will have timed it perfectly to have a good experienced team when compared to overall college basketball landscape.

Supposed CFP-worthy SEC team South Carolina loses to Illinois. Lol
