Told ya, Tommaker. Never in doubt.....

No doubt, I started typing up my summary in the first quarter(MSU game, not Iowa)because it was already over by then. You know I've been a defender of CKG but I'm rapidly losing faith in her ability. It is frustrating as a fan to see this kind of product. If you had said a Lombard level player, or an Ellis level player, I would not have argued so much. But those types of players are NOT good enough to make up for our crappy offensive scheme or coaching.
Did not mean to flame you, sorry if it came across that way, I think we are both just a little upset over how badly we are getting mauled by good teams.
I don't know where it ends, I just know it ends badly. I see that 55% of players going into the portal don't find a new home; I thought I read that a lot of them never play again, don't know the percentages. Of the 45% that do get picked up, a lot are lateral moves. I'd almost hope that the greed will "thin out the herd", but that also has the potential of further reducing the pool of available athletes. What a mess. They should just cancel most non CFP bowls anyway. You can tell by attendance that most fans don’t care about these bowls either. Obviously by the number of sit outs, most players don’t care also.
As far as the NIL, since the NCAA set no limits, players are going to be expected to be paid to go to practices in the very near future.
Because the D player didn't lower his head are they saying it incidental? Looked like targeting to me as well.Wow.....not intentional, but that's a textbook targeting with a defenseless receiver to me - are these Big Ten officials?
I hope you’re right, I think we’ll find out soon. If Minnesota pushes us at the Barn that’s not a great sign and we almost have to go 4-1 or better over the next five games to be real contenders for a conference championship. Having said that, wtf knows, this team could be mediocre in January and figure it out in February and March.Just figured it’d help the team mentally to play them at Mackey first. But doesn’t matter now. If we can sneak a win there, I think we have a shot to get 7-8 wins in the next 10 games. Michigan and Ohio state at home will be tough, and even Northwestern—Barnhizer and Martinelli are being tabbed as best duo in the conference. They haven’t played that tough of competition, so interested to see how they do in constant conference play.
Any ways, I think we see Colvin and Heide become more consistent in hitting at least 1-2 shots a piece every night and the Frosh come along nicely. And yes, I’m being very optimistic 😂
And this is why they play the games. And why I never put any money on them.

Baby Boilers apparently weren’t very good but found ways to win. Not saying this team is like those, but just interesting to look at.Painter's teams have generally been strong on the glass, but we definitely got spoiled the last few years.

Or is there another reason you’d rather play there later? I think Purdue will continue to improve but I don’t think there’s as much room for improvement as there is with those two young stars.
And this is why they play the games.Although I can see where you're coming from, can't see Arizona State knocking out Texas, Tommaker.....serious mis-match there.
Still, the SEC and Big Ten (plus eight) cartel is getting what they want.

If you had said a Lombard level player, or an Ellis level player, I would not have argued so much. But those types of players are NOT good enough to make up for our crappy offensive scheme or coaching.Never said she could land one, said she needs to. Dont twist my words. We're not getting the next Beuckers or Van Lith, but maybe we can land an under recruited player that is good enough to play for Purdue, but not usc. I just said a Lasha Petree type would help, the USC's wouldn't be recruiting her to be a difference maker. This isnt hard to understand.
Swanson is just lost in this poorly executed offense. She needs much more structure than our coaches provide. If she transfers to UILL she will be a double digit scorer off the bench and will terrorize us.Same as last year, this MSU team just looks so much more athletic and faster than us.
Negatives -
Swanson - I think it's time for CKG to give her the red light on shots. So many ill-advised shots, even for some that go in. Never seen a so called shooter air ball so many shots. 3 turnovers today and she only played 1 minute in the 2nd half.
Bass - getting bullied by Big Ten forwards.
Halftime dog show - thought the Iowa dog performance show was more organized and had superior talent. One of the Iowa dogs had insane ups. One of the MSU dogs did a corkscrew while catching a Frisbee, but besides that, very underwhelming. In a way, the Iowa dog and Coach are the big ten, and Purdue was the msu dogs.
Positives -
2nd half performance - we were down 27 at half. Won the 2nd half by 7 points. It's easy to let off the gas as a competitor when you're up so big, which msu did, but still credit to Purdue for not laying down.
Reynolds - hit a few jumpers, hopefully that makes her more confident to be aggressive with her scoring. Still 4 TO's but everyone turned it over today.
Puryear - said it before, love her aggressiveness. She is quicker with her decisions in the post as well compared to McCarthy(which causes turnovers and tie ups).
We don't have to play MSU again.
Final thoughts -
Another dismal performance overall.
The big ten isn't going to get weaker, so either we start improving or we'll just chill in cellar of the big ten. I don't mean for just this season either.
This will be commonplace is a few years.Good thing he’s dead. 😁
Painter's teams have generally been strong on the glass, but we definitely got spoiled the last few years. Not sure if this has been posted but it’s interesting about the rebounding margin throughout the years:

18-19 +5.2
14-15 +4.7
19-20 +4.2
13-14 +3.6

I just said a Lasha Petree type would help, the USC's wouldn't be recruiting her to be a difference maker. This isnt hard to understand.I am not trying to be mean, but what have you seen in the last 3+ years that makes you think CKG can land a top tier transfer capable of carrying her lame offensive scheme and a collection of decent players that are none of them progressing into good college players?
Additionally, if you were that level of difference maker, why would you look at Purdue instead of say USCar, USCal, or some program capable of taking you to a final four?
As far as I am concerned Lasha was not an addition, yeah she could score, but it was one on one and threw the timing of the offense off for everyone else. She did not help us win any meaningful games. That's my 2 cents on her. Bass looks the same way to me.

Interested to see how we guard Harper and Bailey. Will that be Colvin and heides assignments?
Let's see. positives:But we were 100% from the line (Jones was 4 of 4) though only one player shot free throws. I wanted to say something positive.

Thankful MSU called off the press and just coasted to the win in the last 2 and a half quarters. Purdue scored a grand total of 3 points in the second quarter.
THREE POINTS for a quarter.
Puryear and McCarthy together did seem viable in the 3rd quarter, but MSU really was playing soft and just playing out the time secure they won the game in the first quarter and a half.
Reminds me...who killed Epstein and what was the complete log on the visitorsGood thing he’s dead. 😁
So are you saying this isn't true because "red state" is a conservative lean? "Twelve homes in 48 hours versus three homes over three months. Really awful optics for FEMA." Because if that is true, there isn't a whole lot more to say is there? I've had Amish build over $110k for me the last couple of years and know they are hard workers and get it done. Do I need a distraction from what they Amish built and what FEMA did...let alone the cost...and where would I find that non bias slant today? would I assume that circular referencing generating a large number of copied reports is not biased? No question the media has been slanted for some time and is much worse now than even a few years ago, but what side of the aisle is that media that we should search for articles not slanted? As always, truth is somewhere in between. This article is from red state, a politically conservative group. A simple google search will indicate permanent or semi permanent housing is a last resort for fema compared to getting temporary housing. The 4 houses mentioned were only on private land in that county. 50 houses were made available on public or government for that county. Awesome that Amish built the houses. No doubt fema is wasting money, but context remains as important now as in any time and doing your own research is more important than ever because so many "news sources" have agendas and they expect readers to just read their stuff and take it as the truth.
