Tomatoes, squash, peppers, and...pot?

I watched a documentary on psychedelics and was surprised how often Purdue was mentioned.

Apparently Purdue is the academic home of many drugs. Home, to the point that Purdue employed the king of LSD for a very long time.

He had an entire lab in Brown. The king of LSD.

Friend of mine was a pharmacy major back in the 80s. In lab, she had to synthesize morphine and then inject it into mice. According to her, she "overshot" the mouse--as in needle through the mouse and out the other side--and she shot her thumb full of morphine. Now, had it been anyone else we would have all said "sure, it was an accident." But with her it probably really was accidental.

They also had a greenhouse full of pot plants on campus back in the 1980s.
