Anyone know anything factual about Kendall and his situation/playing time?

He hasn't played in 3 games and has missed 8 games this season, so my guess would be that a decision has been made behind-the-scenes/"off-the record for now", sort of like Bryson Scott last season. Maybe I'm wrong, though. There's still a flicker of hope that he'll play at Purdue again until an official announcement is made. We'll know more tomorrow.

yeah, generally detached on the bench it seems relative to "the game", but still friendly with team

I have Purdue winning this game by 10 points.....

Something like 78 to 68............

AJH, Biggie, Mathias and Hill with the big games.....

Hitting our good outside shots, rebounding on both ends and hitting our free throws win it for us.

Boiler Up!

So what he will transfer to a FCS school?

Sitting out his SR year to play his 5th? Doesn't make a lick of sense. Whatever happened to working your tail off? Cuz he isn't being treated bad. The kids in front earned their minutes and Kendall needs to steal em back

I understand why these discussions take place. For informational purposes only, it was mentioned in previous threads that if Kendall graduated this year, that would change his options.

I have no clue as to what's really going on.

In any event, I would love to see him still have an impact on the team this year......would love to see him come back better than ever next year along with Basil Smotherman.....and lead the team to a strong season. Still hoping that is the case. Either way, I loved seeing his dad play and glad he chose to be a Boiler no matter what happens down the road. He's had his ups and downs.....life doesn't always play out the way you initially plan, no matter what the endeavor.

I was under the impression he was in Krannert. I would be highly shocked if he graduates in three!

Fair point, IndyS. Whatever happens, I wish the best for him going forward. Whenever he graduates, he's getting a degree from a great institution, and that (along with the life experience and relationships he's forged) will serve him well.

Nagemj,

I mean no disrespect by this (and I do appreciate your game overviews every game), but am always mystified as to why you list Taylor as one who might play? I know I haven't seen every game this year, but I've only seen him in mop-up duty, never in a meaningful situation. Sorry for the judgment, just trying to figure out why you list him every game as one who might play.

How is Nag's statement incorrect? Taylor might play. The concussion issues have definitely kept him out of recent games..........but if he is clear to play, then he has to be listed as might play. Probable? No. Might? Maybe. There, clear as mud.

Morgan starts, not Finke. My guess is you guys will get your revenge this time, but if Illinois can keep hitting 3s, who knows?

Michael Finke has more starts than Maverick Morgan this season. I based my projection off of that and the fact that John Groce has mixed up their starting lineups at other positions as well (PG: Khalid Lewis and Jaylon Tate) this season.

Finke was starting until he got hurt against Wisconsin. Since then, he's only had 1 start. And Morgan will start tomorrow. Lewis has started 11 games in a row and will also start tomorrow.

Illinois likes to spread the court out and drive-and-dish or drive and kick-out until they find an open man. Hill, Nunn, and Coleman-Lands are basically their "Big Three", with the jump-shooting bigs Morgan and Finke being their next scoring options.

What are some non-obvious keys to the Boilers avenging their 84-70 loss in Champaign and beating Illinois this afternoon?

You were right. They got their revenge. Now it's time to payback Michigan for the loss in Ann Arbor!

Also, Jacquil Taylor played, just like he was projected to, Big Ogie. (vbg)

Boiler Up

Yep! I stand corrected and I'm not too proud to admit it! I don't mind seeing him in the game because that usually means we've got a win coming!

yessir

I just want to see Taylor post-up in the paint when he plays, but he seems to like to shoot perimeter J's and off-the-dribble. He did make one.
