Moving the family to the MB area to be closer to extended family & help my brother start a pool service business. Interested in making contact with any Boilers in the area.

I'll be looking for full time work beginning anytime after mid-July. I'm in collegiate recreation/athletics right now (five years), but I'm open to entry level positions in other fields. I have a bachelor's in Business from Krannert w/ a minor in Marketing & a master's in Sports Management from Purdue Kinesiology. I've been looking at jobs in sports tourism or banking relationship manager type roles.

If you have any tips on the area or job leads, they'd be appreciated. We're looking at houses/apartments close to the coast (Socaste, Carolina Forest, Little River, North Myrtle Beach).

If you want to discuss more in depth or meet sometime, shoot me an email at matt.lake98@gmail.com.

Depending on your family situation I'd look south of MB in Georgetown county for housing especially if raising a family. Better schools in St James and Waccamaw HS. Lower crime rate, lower taxes, more laidback living. Still within an easy commute unless your startup business is on the north end of MB. We've been going out for that past 12 years and look to retire in the Murrells Inlet/Pawleys Island area in the next two years.

Thanks. We have been exploring the north side mostly because we have family in Carolina Beach, NC so it'd make that trip easier, but will definitely expand search to the south side. Startup business is pretty much wherever we land & will expand as we grow.

I'd definitely give it a look a little farther south. Less commercialism. If you want flash it's within a half hour drive but the beaches are much less crowded, the restaurants are more local and the seafood is much better due to a local fleet that keeps the area in fresh caught daily. More of a small town feel yet 1/2 hour to the middle of the MB boardwalk and only 1+ hours to Charleston.

If you decide to stay on the north end, the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach and Little River, SC have similar qualities as the communities south of Myrtle Beach listed above. Little River borders NC.

If you can't find a Purdue place to watch games, check out Wild Wings Cafe at Barefoot Landing in N. Myrtle on Sept 6th. One of the owners is a Marshall grad and former baseball player. They should have the MU vs Purdue game.

Thanks Mike! We've looked in Cherry Grove and liked some places there. We have meetings with some schools set up for the week of the 15th of June & going to be looking at places to live then as well.

Good luck to you wherever you end up. Will hit you up when I finally make the full time move in a couple of years. More Boilers can only make the low country better!!
