Well done Democrats!!! Another great step in unleashing the Democrat Utopia on the US.

"That was the proposition that passed in 2014 that reclassified many of these property crimes as misdemeanors below a $850 threshold. And that, I think in many ways, set the tone in that state and in many cities in that state for a different approach to policing and criminalizing some of this behavior," Shay told CNBC Wednesday.

Organized retail theft wouldn't be so popular without resellers, or fencers, who can easily profit from the goods through online marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Facebook Marketplace and others.

DeSantis had a great answer on crime about the lib backed DAs, and how he got rid of them in Florida. Appreciated that.

This is an important issue as this retail crime that is not being prosecuted is raising insurance costs and retail prices on everyone.

A great example of the liberal mindset is in Chicago, led by new mayor Brandon Johnson.

"urban" youth organize flash mobs to attack people and stores on Michigan Ave and other retail areas of downtown. Very few arrests are made and those that are are immediately released by the liberal Dem DA. Then, of course, Johnson comes to the defense of the criminals during a press conference and asks not to "demonize" the behavior, followed by a list of excuses for it.

Sounds like they should hire more security guards or pay their retail employees more to care about stopping the theft.

So it's the store's fault???? How can you lay it on them?? Geez!

No when you don't prosecute crime in these lib cities, due to Soros backed DAs, there are repercussions to everyone, including you Teddy.

Security guards, or store help & their employers would be the ones prosecuted &/or sued in these lib cities. The justice system is screwed up & non existent, and that is why the stores are leaving.

Thoughts, prayers and best of luck to those stores. 🙏

How does that stop theft when no one will prosecute? Organized crime will just triple the forces when robbing a place.

At some point, prosecuting criminals has to be a deterrent to prevent reoccurrence.

The liberal utopia just continues to prove how stupid liberal policies are

What a typical lefty lib response. Don't blame the offender, blame the victim. After all, these urban youth are marginalized and can't possibly be expected to take responsibility for their behavior or actions.
If a corporate chain can't stop retail theft to the point where they're going out of business, that's on them. They should pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

You are such a complete and utter fool. Do you and BNI pay rent or just squat in a basement somewhere? Then the corporate chain shouldnt have to pay taxes for police protection either , right? You are 3rd grade he is 4th you met and fell in love because you are both too stupid to live on our own.

To what lengths do you think a corporation should go in order to prevent retail theft?
Armed guards? Physically restraining perps? Tazing shoplifters?

And who pays for that?
The consumer does.
So the retailers pay for non existent Police Protection, get prosecuted for protecting their personal property and lose money from theft.
I suppose there will be a law put in place soon requiring them to stay in these law less communities until they go bankrupt.
A roundabout way of ultimate Socialism, share the wealth.

Crime famously didn't exist before Joe Biden
While saying crime didn’t exist before Biden is a reach….

Saying theft has dramatically increase under Biden would not be a reach….

The NRF said total annual shrink reached $94.5 billion in 2021, up from $90.8 billion from 2020. Nearly half was attributed to large-scale theft of products. The group said retailers on average saw a 26.5% increase in this type of theft over the previous year.
from the “non-biased” news service at CNN

Guess what happens when prosecutors stop prosecuting crime….🤔….the previous “would have been arrested” criminals keep stealing.

America’s Suburbs will be OVERRUN with Low Income Projects, Anarchists, Agitators, Looters and, of course, ‘Friendly Protesters.’

Wow, retail theft was up from 2020, the year when a ton of stores shut down? What a surprise.

Or stated another way, theft goes up when people are allowed in stores versus picking up goods in the parking lot 🤔

I think Teddy has reached a new level of board idiocy. If he is posting, he is wrong or a wacko opinion......and when proven wrong, (often btw) doesn't seem to be embarrassed by how wrong he is. Lol. Not sure he is even worth responding to??

At least with @BNIBoiler, he is a very interesting, intelligent person. He's wrong from time to time, but at least he's interesting & has some intelligence, and great opinions backed by at least a few facts, albeit many outdated. I have found no redeeming qualities in Teddy. Although he does remind me of the movie Idiocracy. A bit hard to have a discussion with someone of that level. LOL

And they run in by the hundreds, and they’re running out carrying refrigerators and carrying air conditioners and big stuff ― big, little, everything. Fur coats, non-fur coats, everything they’re carrying. They empty out the stores.
