Sort of like us losing Jeff George. We would have sucked with him or without him. IU would have still sucked with Penix, just slightly less sucky.
With their OL, Penix would have been hurt, like he was when he was there.
Also, Penix would never have had the weapons that he has now. They would not have wanted to play for a HS coach.
Yeah, Washington's offensive line and weapons at receiver are a big part of what is allowing Penix to thrive. He never would have had this kind of season at IU even with all of that obvious talent.
