So poor Penny bought James Wiseman for a year and now Wiseman has decided he's going to sit out the season to prepare for the NBA draft. Guess there is no honor among crooks anymore.

That is quite the overstatement. Feel free to read a bit more about the situation. The NCAA is happy to make an example of Memphis. They wouldn’t do this to a blue blood.
It doesn't help that Penny spit in their face by playing the kid a few games even after they suspended him at the beginning of the season. Memphis begged for any time of consequence they might get.
